Proposal: Update Interim Gen-1 Node Provider Remuneration After 48 months

Thank you @Tomoaki.
Public notice, this means that he will be retiring/selling the TY2 nodes.
@sat we can start moving Subnets away from TY2.

Proposal #134483 Review — Roald | Aviate Labs
Vote: ADOPT

Review:

This proposal adds 14 nodes to the sg2 data center under a new Node Operator ID (qxonx-2oxpk-42rse-zgvml-vtbzo-5u7zz-dueqb-olyxr-luapv-qxdax-wae). This transition is necessary to migrate existing nodes to the recommended non-HSM deployment mode.

Key Considerations:

  1. Data Center match:
The proposal indicates that the 14 nodes will be redeployed in the sg2 data center. This is consistent with the IC Dashboard records and the DC ID provided in the payload ("sg2").
  2. Node Provider and Operator Details:
The node provider, OneSixtyTwo Digital Capital (Node Provider ID: 6nbcy-kprg6-ax3db-kh3cz-7jllk-oceyh-jznhs-riguq-fvk6z-6tsds-rqe), already hosts nodes in this data center. The old Node Operator ID (qffmn-uqkl2-uuw6l-jo5i6-obdek-tix6f-u4odv-j3265-pcpcn-jy5le-lae) shows 14 Gen-1 nodes in the dashboard, matching the allowance proposed.

Conclusion:
The proposal is aligned with IC’s governance and target topology. The planned deprecation of the old Node Operator record and adherence to motion proposal 132553 complete the proposal’s validity. For these reasons, I vote to Adopt.

Many thanks, Paul!
Note to community, this means that AN1 is the DC that is being sold, so we will be moving subnets away.

Proposal #134501 Review — Roald | Aviate Labs
Vote: ADOPT

Summary:

This proposal involves transferring 28 nodes in SG3 from Node Provider 162 Digital Capital to Protocol16. The transition is documented thoroughly and aligns with governance standards.

Key Points:

  • Handover Details:
SG3 will transfer to Protocol16 while SG1 and SG2 remain with 162 Digital Capital, streamlining node management.

  • Verification:
The hash of the handover document matches the one provided in the proposal, confirming its integrity.

  • Node Record:
The old Node Operator record 5mhxl-exk6r-cvm3q-ose77-qojd2-dybc4-hvrdj-5dnr6-ylvg7-wtn23-2qe(find it here, do note this Node OP record will get outdated) confirms 28 Gen-1 nodes (“type1”: 28), consistent with the proposed transfer.

Conclusion:
The transfer is transparent and aligns with IC’s operational goals. I vote to Adopt.

Proposal #134506 Review — Louise | Aviate Labs

Vote: ADOPT
Review:

  • Though this proposal appears to add 14 nodes, the proposer clarified that this is necessary for migrating to the HSM-less deployment method. They also committed to deprecating the old record once the nodes in this data center have been onboarded, keeping this aligned with the IC target topology.
  • The DC ID in the proposal matches what is displayed on the dashboard.
  • This data center also hosts nodes for the node provider 87M Neuron LLC, with the node provider ID eipr5-izbom-neyqh-s3ec2-52eww-cyfpg-qfomg-3dpwj-4pffh-34xcu-7qe.
  • The previous Node Operator ID (it7v7-gb556-xhrhm-aaprs-ou5tu-evlk7-u5u2e-cvl5h-7lw6s-httyn-zqe) associated with this data center shows 14 nodes, matching the allowance proposed in this proposal.
  • The old NO ID also verifies that these are Gen-1 nodes as indicated by the "type1": 14 in the image above, meaning that they are in line with motion proposal 132553 for node rewards after 48 months, the proposal is clarified in this forum post: Proposal: Update Interim Gen-1 Node Provider Remuneration After 48 months - #6 by 162DC

Voted to adopt proposals 134506 and 134507.

These proposals each add a new node operator ID for node provider 87m Neuron, LLC. The node provider ID and data centre IDs given in the two proposals match the information for data centres LV1 and DL1 respectively in the dashboard. The document hashes given in the Wiki match the documents. The addition of the new node operator IDs is consistent with the processes outlined in the current thread for reconfiguring existing Gen-1 nodes under the new remuneration structure. The proposed node allowance for this NP in data centres LV1 and DL1 total 42, consistent with the agreed maximum and the statement of intent here.

Greetings! Here is DFINITY’s notice of intent:

  1. Self-Declaration: https://wiki.internetcomputer.org/wiki/DFINITY_Stiftung
  2. Node Count: 42 under the new remuneration structure
  3. Data Center: SH1 and ZH2
  4. Node Deployment Confirmation: Two nodes have been successfully deployed with IPv4 addresses and a domain name in both DCs
  5. Start Date for New Reward Values: Feb 1, 2025
  6. Contact Information: @katie-dfinity:matrix.org (as well as many others)

Additional notes:

  • DFINITY is selling the MR1 and BO1 nodes to new NPs who will create proposals and do their own forum posts. See related forum post here.
  • DFINITY also owned the hardware (but not the DC contracts or responsibility) for AT1, SJ1, FM1, and TP1. See this conversation. We did not run or operate these nodes and had no access to them until Dec 1, 2024. The NPs who were operating them had full control and responsibilty from prior to Genesis when the agreement was made until Nov 30, 2024. This agreement is now over, the nodes are no longer being used in the IC, and control of them is being reverted back to DFINITY.
  • The servers at AT1 have been sold as well and will be re-onboarded by the buyers who will anounce themselves and submit NP proposals. The servers from the other three DCs are being repurposed for internal purposes.

Let us know if you have any questions.

Best regards

Voted to adopt proposal #134506.

The proposal meets the requirements, and is in line with prior discussions about the takeover of Gen-1 "type1": 14 nodes .
The links in the summary provide detailed info and the hash for the handover document is a match, and it’s great to see it included in the summary.
So is the Data Center ID LV1 as well as NO and NP from the payload is a match.

Voted to adopt proposal #134507.

The proposal meets the requirements, and is in line with prior discussions about the Gen-1 "type1": 28 nodes .
The links in the summary provide detailed info and the hash for the documents is a match
So is the Data Center ID DL1 as well as NO and NP from the payload is a match.

Proposal #134659 — Zack | CodeGov

Vote: Adopted

Reason:
The proposal adds 7ldwr-vrnjp-p23uh-6czzq-7qp4h-qhvw2-c2by5-3jpqm-4nuu3-vx5dz-fae as a new node operator ID for NP Starbase that will be used to redeploy 14 nodes of “type1” in the TY3 data center.
The proposal is correct, info in the payload match, and it is in line with the requirements to update interim Gen-1 NP remuneration after 48 months.
It follows proposal #134534 and keeps the limit to operating a maximum of 42 nodes, in line with the target topology.
