Do rules apply to everyone equally?

No. The issue with hotornot was a good thing to bring up to help reform the sns launch pad. It has now transformed into him wanting to claw back his money while trolling the entire developer forum for his own enjoyment.

Not to mention that he has accused a bunch of other people (totally unrelated to this HotorNot thing) of all kinds of things that are not true. And of course the way it was done in general.

Perhaps people agree with him because he was in fact correct in identifying bad actors, not because he has voting power/money. It really seems to bother you that someone can act childish and still be correct.

If your thesis is had merit, everyone should just blindly agree with dfinitys decisions since the foundation has the most money/voting power. But the thing is people really dont like being deceived by fraudsters. And it took a bunch of troll posting to get them to take action.

He was correct on something that everyone knew if they read the white paper and looked into the dapp. It has since then been nothing but him trying to get refunded for poor investing choices.

Again there is a big distinction between poor investing choices, and outright fraud.

You can use the “this is crypto” arguement. But this isn’t some small project. This was a team that secured _$13million in funding that largely came from dfinity. Dfinity with the IC is trying to build something better here, and i would hope as a community we dont look the other way when these things happen.

I don’t think anybody is siding with Dfinity and there is and has been plenty of criticism against them and their voting power. They generally are quite evidence based though in their posts rather than inflammatory and accusing anyone on a hunch. I stand by what I said: being accused by him of being a scammer at any point of dissent is limiting proper debate on the forum and creating an echo chamber. Not to mention that there have been allegations that he is paying people off to post things and support him etc. Regardless of whether there is truth in that or not, it’s just not good for the community that this is how it’s evolving.

well said @ysyms

Hey Snoopy. I’ve been seeing your posts in this forum. You and Wenzel seem to be posting on same topics, with very similar opinions.

I do not understand why are you trying to dismiss legitimate exploit and scams to distract others from the conversation. Does it have anything to do with you and wenzel liking each other’s post nonstop?

You have been attacking everyone who raises valid concerns with your posts calling them trolls and dismissing their opinions like a gatekeeper. Meanwhile defending people being called out

May I suggest less gatekeeping and more substance in your words? For example: Sticking to a subject at discussion or letting others discuss without attacking them for their opinions on scams and frauds being called out here?

Let me also remind everyone that Wenzel and Co flag other people’s posts here nonstop and censor them. They have been doing this for over two years now, heavily gatekeeping Forum and Governance discussions here.

This forum post has now been taken away from its original purpose. I’d like to bring it back and have it acknowledged that the rules state no trolling and yet Adam has been allowed to turn this forum into his own playground of trolling with no consequences.

This is simply untrue. I don’t believe I have called anyone a troll, if I have, then I regret that because that is generally not my style outside a forum topic to specifically discuss trolling. My comments normally relate to topics where I differ in opinion and where I can bring an actual fact based argument or evidence. I also don’t know Wenzel. Maybe I agreed with his views on occasion. Certainly not all of them. And certainly only on topics where I have some background to contribute.

I honestly appreciate your Meta-rant-post about meta-ranting on the forums. To be honest I am yet to see anything meaningful to be contributed here by you or Wenzel or Snoopy. All I see is you calling out and pointing others because you find it uncomfortable to read mean words but have no issues with encouraging and supporting scams/rugs

There are so many spam posts here by these few people who are just posting verbal slop on the forums. Have you ever tried summarizing your topics to a few bullet point or being clear and concise? If I wanted to look at Slop non stop I would go to Twitter and look at Slop there.

Maybe just let people use their free-speech instead of thought-policing like wenzel or snoopy?

The forum isn’t a “free speech” platform like twitter. There are rules and guidelines to follow and enforce.

I would suggest the trolling moves there and leaves the forum all together

And I would suggest you to stop defending rugs and the swamp

That isn’t for you to decide. Even Twitter has rules if you are not aware of it. You want people to discuss governance here, and you come and say this? Irony.

Not once did I defend a scam. That is just wrong.

My whole issue is seeing someone break rules regularly and not being held accountable. Now you are 3 days old here so I understand you might not know how the forums have been abused by regular users before but each of those users have been banned and censored. But with Adam Dfinity is giving him free reign to act out as he pleases under posts that have nothing to do with the hotornot scam.

No I’m not getting any special treatment. It’s hard to find a post of mine that hasn’t been flagged by Wenzel, Snoopy and all their flying monkeys and alternate accounts.

Please focus on the threats to the IC, not trying to censor the people fighting against those threats.

I have never flagged anyone’s posts. Not yours nor others’. I am all for free speech. But free speech also requires a certain amount of decorum. A forum thrives on openness, not dominance. If we keep treating dialogue like a fight, people stop showing up, and this is not what will drive us forward as a community. And if anyone saw the need to create an alternate account, this might be a direct consequence of the latest atmosphere on the forum.

So not because you’re part of this corruption and want to hide your identity? I thought it was that but if it’s because of the “atmosphere” then I apologise.

I believe there is going to be an official update on this soon as the rules need to be more clearly defined, along with possible penalties for breaking the rules.

The nature of the IC means that we have a lot of people who are on the spectrum, highly intelligent and passionate. That is not a bad thing and I am not criticising that in any way. It is just unrealistic to expect everyone to always agree. There should be disagreements, which are allowed to be openly discussed without being flagged.

Flags should be used for activities that break the rules, not for opinions that you do not feel should be expressed.

Also this is not specifically Developer forums, these are forums for all of the IC ecosystem. That is why there are different sections.

If you wish to only interact with developers, you should probably bookmark this URL which would ensure that you can easily focus on developer related discussions.

We need an “Autism DAO”, it has the potential to create a lot of positive impact.

Do you think what Adam has been posting on here has not broken any rules?

Trolling btw is specifically against the rules of this forum. If you hadn’t seen what he’s posted under the Kong swap update I can give you a rewrite of a few posts.
