Is this functionality staying? There was some discussion of it via the @Lorimer thread that I can’t currently find. I know it’s not used much, but there was some talk about extending it for CO.Delta?
Interesting, here’s all the Neuron Management proposals that were submitted around that time.
My understanding is that this functionality is staying, although the mechanism through which maturity is disbursed in being simplified. CO.DELTA would definitely make use of this if the neuron had a larger stake, but at the moment the majority of the rewards come from the Grants for Voting Neurons initiative instead, which are transferred by DFINITY to the CO.DELTA backend canister, which itself is controlled by a Threshold canister, which requires CO.DELTA team members to raise a threshold canister proposal (not an NNS proposal) and vote in order to distribute the canister’s funds among team members.
Ideally the funds would come from the NNS rather than from DFINITY, so that everything is on-chain. There’s work going on that’s related to this. Here’s some recent discussion that also ties in with numerous other goings on.
