Oh what a tangled web we weave.
Wish you the best with the untangling!
Why do you seem to have to know everyone’s wallet and holdings?
@Severin is this forum a place to allow Adam to dox wallets?
Is doxxing wallets illegal?
Doxxing with the amount of harassment that follows from you and your followers is illegal.
As well as it goes against the ethos of crypto. If this user wants privacy then they are entitled to privacy.
Hey, @Mico , the topic here is “Weird proposal linked to whale account,” not whatever you’re up to.
Followed by “ and I don’t know who it belongs to.”
An attempt for him to dox this wallet to be known by him.
Here is a better reply from one of your favorite sites. Chat gpt.
Yes, doxxing someone’s cryptocurrency wallet can be considered illegal or at least highly unethical, depending on the context and jurisdiction. Doxxing generally refers to the act of publicly revealing or publishing private information about someone without their consent, and this can apply to a person’s cryptocurrency wallet information.
Here are some key points to consider:
Privacy Violations: Publicly disclosing someone’s wallet address can compromise their privacy. Even though blockchain transactions are often transparent, revealing someone’s wallet could lead to harassment, theft, or fraud, especially if someone uses it to track a person’s financial activity.
Harassment or Threats: If the doxxing leads to harassment, blackmail, or threats, it could potentially violate laws related to stalking, harassment, or extortion, depending on the jurisdiction.
Identity Theft: If a person uses the disclosed wallet address to attempt fraud or steal assets from the wallet, it could lead to identity theft or other criminal activities.
Legal Consequences: In some jurisdictions, doxxing someone can lead to civil or criminal penalties. These laws may cover data protection, harassment, and stalking. In the U.S., for example, doxxing could be prosecuted under harassment or cyberstalking laws.
Even if the wallet address is public on a blockchain, revealing it with malicious intent or using it to cause harm can have serious legal repercussions.
In short, it’s best to respect others’ privacy and avoid doxxing anyone’s cryptocurrency wallet or personal information.
@Severin hopefully this forum and foundation respect the privacy of users and take these attempts seriously.
It’s honestly quite baffling to see this sort of thread in a serious L1 blockchain.
Yeah, this type of chat would never happen on Bitcoin or Ethereum.
As a bystander it appears to me that:
adam probably already knows who this wallet belongs to.
the foundation already probably knows as well.
He just happened to provide a diagram of a single entity receiving direct payments from like 25 NPs who are supposed to be “decentralized” and you somehow think thats not important info to share.
Actually, i have spoken to people and it’s fine. It’s basically in the spec but it was never added to the dashboard.
Sorry to freak people out, I think the account I assumed to be a weird megawhale is part of the foundation itself.
/msg dominic_w is that ok? I think they believed it
If he knows then he either posts the required info or he post his true intentions instead of hiding behind this guise of trying to find out.
I cant even tell if this is sarcasm but im assuming it is.
the last bit was sarcasm the first bit is true, I have confirmed it’s just a spec thing and a hole in the dashboard.
I got banned from zero2hero for fudding cuz i started discussion about ICP being so opaque compared to other chains…
For future reference, all neurons in the 1000, 2000, 3000, and 4000 series belong to DFINITY and were created at genesis. All Proposers with neuron IDs that are 2 digit also belong to DFINITY and were also created at genesis. Most technical proposals (IC-OS Version Election, Participant Management, Node Admin, etc) are created by DFINITY neurons with 2 digit neuron IDs, but some are created with normal looking neuron IDs.
Yes, but it was weird when suddenly the dashboard skipped hundreds of proposals. Not a huge issue but at some point maybe other people will notice it.
Click on the “Topic” column, select “Neuron Management” and those proposals will show up as well. The dashboard is just not showing them by default, since they are specific for individual neuron holders and cannot be voted on by the public.
