Is anyone else having a problem with their wallets on kongswap? I am signing in with my internet identity and my address is different than it used to be and of course the tokens are not there.
The wallets from nns.dapp and icdex connected to this internet identity are still showing their correct addresses and token balances.
Internet identity creates a different “principal” for every different dapp you connect to.
So when you click to “connect”
Your wallet with Internet Identity, its actually creating a new wallet that you need to send your funds to if you want to use the kongswap app to swap your funds.
This is a security and anonymity feature, not a bug. Every single dapp that utilizes internet identity works the same way.
There are plenty that of videos that can walk you through the process, search for creator AaronBremser.
By the way if you are looking for a more “wallet” like interface, oisy wallet actually uses kong swap in the background while having a friendly wallet feel, and maybe more intuitive to new users.

Yes i know. I should have been more clear. I have used kong swap before. I have sent icp to my address there and have swapped for multiple tokens. The problem is now when i log in from that same internet identity, the address on kong swap is not the same one that i had been using days prior

The only way to reach them i hear is on telegram and unfortunately i cant use telegram. Im out of the country and i cant receive the sms code to even get into telegram

I have saved the old kong address and the internet identity that its attached to. I just hope the kong team can figure this out. Why is it a different address now when i sign on from that internet identity?
Your case is like ours’s. They refuse to compensate my friend’s 600 ICP.
Can you give us ID that you had and new one you got.
Hi, we had a bug with the derivation origin that was active for a couple of hours before we fixed it. Your old principal should be back now. If you still have any issues please share the transaction in question and we’ll take a look.
