It just occurred to me that if neurons could be congifured to share X% of their maturity with the neurons that they’re following (rather than that percentage being fixed), there would be a number of benefits:
- Users could opt out
- It would essentially be like tipping, and each user could decide what the right amount feels like for them
- Some neurons could be set to share 100%,
- thereby making NF neuron maturity accessible to a user by setting it to follow a neuron that they control (rather than just having a hotkey)
- also makes D-QUORUM maturity accessible to elected followees
- also makes NP neurons (with potential for slashing) feasible
By implementing reward cascades in an adjustable way, lots of other things become feasible, including representative democracy.
