The identity is back,I can log into some dapps like open chat and partyhats but can’t log into the nns
Weird, it’s working for me.
Try in https://nns.internetcomputer.org/ with the same identity.
Damn, thanks bro it’s working, you’ve been really helpful
Basically, if you don’t have the private keys to your wallet, then you don’t really own it
With Internet Identity the keys are owned by the subnet/NNS/Dfinity
Good luck trying to get it back, there are many recovering options though, you just have to learn how it works before you lose access
Something I don’t understand, another dfinity dev on the forum discussing II V2.0 said that the anchor number is not necessary, but anyway you are asking this person to go to that website and “register” the anchor id, so it’s necessary or not? If he didn’t have the 6-7 digit number, then he couldn’t log into his internet identity.
It’s weird some of you guys say one thing, and others say another one, it’s confusing.
And what does this mean with talking to the credential manager? Who is the credential manager? So internet identity rely on a third party service to be available or how does this work?
This user was facing problems with Internet Identity 1.0.
Both flows are now live in different domains:
- 2.0 in id.ai
- 1.0 in the older domains, identity.internetcomputer.org and identity.ic0.app
When you asked him to “register” on webauth website, why is this process necessary ? Or it was just for you to understand something?
I mean, him putting his anchord id in that website, helped him to login, and fix the issue on internet identity?. Or this has nothing to do with solving the issue?
I want to understand what is the relation on the internet identity framework and if is directly tied to a third party service
@lmuntaner thanks
No no, that was just to check whether there was a problem with their passkeys.
Webauthn.io has nothing to do with Internet Identity. I didn’t ask to add the identity number there…
I am was solving a similar problem, thank you for all the advice
Hello,
is it possible to update Internet Identity from 1.0 to 2.0?
If yes, how?
greetings
Not yet. We are currently working on this.
