Candy Library - Try 2 - Financing Software on the IC

Do you guys have vague ideas how a decentralised system could enforce the licenses instead of relying on goodwill or governments? Would be nice to brainstorm about that. Identity seems to be the missing piece to so many use cases. Once it’s costly to create another online/on-chain identity for yourself we could start working on online reputation around the identity. I’d also point out that any significant change like that would likely require support (a vote) from Dfinity. I doubt these whales would be willing to give up their power willingly.

I think there are some cool structures and DAO potential in these areas, but there are a few in the community that really don’t want code to charge for itself. I’m super excited to have the conversations and find a way to fund future software development in the most open, transparent, and sustainable way possible.
