Can there be added merge and split neuron as ICP has, on every SNS?
Hi @Luppo , thanks for the feature request.
This is not currently on the top of the SNS roadmap, but I’ll make a note so that we can compare against other priorities.
If you happen to have a compelling use case why you think this would require a high priority, please feel free to share it here for more context!
Hey @Lara ! Great work with the NNS ! So many upgrades and features! Amazing! Everything I previously suggested and more! On this note, is Merge/Split neuron still on the SNS roadmap and any ETA? Also, I have one major gripe with the NNS and that is that you guys have A TIMER autologout that does not account for USAGE! In other words, the NNS will log you out REGARDLESS of whether or not you are still active on the NNS! It is really annoying me lately because for example, this morning I was in the middle of actively voting and it logged me out right in the middle of active usage! And it has done this many times to me now! Isn’t there a way you guys can program it to pop a window up to say “are you still active?” or to know that the user is still active in the current browser window and increase the timeout at that point instead?
Hello,
Thanks!
Merge/split is still noted as potential future feature, but rather far out on our roadmap as we think other features have a higher impact.
Thanks for bringing up the issue with the timer. We are aware that this is an inconvenience. The reason for the current design is due to how delegations work on ICP, but we brainstormed some options how this could nevertheless be improved a bit on the user-experience side.
I will keep that in mind and bring up as a suggestion to add to the roadmap (can’t say anything yet wrt where this will end up on the priority list thought).
Thanks for the inputs and have a great day!
Thank you for your reply. What is the current timeout length set to right now? I guess temporarily you should consider extending this value until you have a better solution?
We can consider it, but this also comes with a security downside - if someone walks away from their device someone else could use the valid delegation to perform transaction in the name of that user.
Okay you’re right. Security comes first before convenience and annoyance yes 100%. I get it. I will just deal and understand the limitations until you have that inevitable eureka moment! Thanks @lara ! Trivial in the scheme of things! Have a wonderful day!
