Cant login to internet identity

i keep getting an error when trying to login to my identity:
Error details:
Invalid certificate: Certificate is signed more than 5 minutes in the past

i tried changing my computers time but hasnt helped.

any tips?

yes, just more info i hadnt used this laptop in a very long time also, no battery had reset the bios.

how can i sync my laptops time to internet computers time? is that what we have to do?

Syncing your laptop to the actual time should be enough. Is the time in your laptop the same as in your phone?

Can you use your phone to access your identity?

As @lmuntaner explained, this error is usually do your computer clock time not being set correctly.

its strange but i turned my computer back 2 hours in the past even though my phone is able to login at a different time.

And now you are able to log in with your computer?

yea i was able to, below the error message i saw more red text the time wasnt matching , still strange that my phones time is not the same as computers and could login

Time can differ between devices while II sign in continues to work due:

  • The time can be approximately 5 minutes out of sync with the IC before it results in an error.
  • The configured time zone could be different between devices resulting in a different shown time (for actually the same UTC time)
