Some updates from Sneed DAO:
On Sneed Hub (app.sneeddao.com) we now have a forum for every SNS, where anyone can create threads to discuss the governance of their SNS and where SNS members can use Voting Power from their hotkeyed SNS neurons to upvote and downvote posts.
Tipping (any ICRC1 token) and direct messaging is also supported, as well as polls where SNS members also vote using their hotkeyed neuron voting power.
There is a GUI for all the forums on Sneed Hub, but any SNS that would like to integrate by creating their own frontend to our forum backend is welcome and encouraged to do so. So far TACO DAO has done so, which means that an alternative frontend to our forum is available on tacodao.com.
There are also special threads connected to SNS proposals, so that each proposal gets its own dedicated thread for discussion. That means you can always go to Sneed Hub, to “Proposals”, select your SNS in the top-right dropdown, and then directly start discussing the proposal. In addition to this, every SNS has a “Preproposals” topic in their forum, where SNS members can discuss proposals and gauge support (using votes with real voting power) to lower the risk of wasting stake on unpopular proposals.
These were features we presented as being on our roadmap during ICPLabs at Dfinity HQ about a year ago, and we are very pleased to now be able to deliver on all of them!
Another update is that Sneed Lock 2.0, also available via app.sneeddao.com has exited beta and now allows time-locking ICRC1 tokens and ICPSwap LP positions for up to 10 years, supporting staggered unlocks. This feature allows token creators to give traders a peace of mind that they won’t be rugged.
Also worth noting is the Sneed Name server - again a feature open for anyone to integrate with, that allows users to associate public names (visible to everyone) with their own principals and neurons, as well as assign nicknames (visible only to the user) to any principal or neuron.
This system is also integrated into TACO DAO, meaning that when a user names their neuron with which they make an SNS proposal, users who view the proposal on app.sneeddao.com or tacodao.com will see the neuron name under “proposer”, making it easier to track who made a proposal before voting.
The name system is reused everywhere, from forum posts to the transaction browser and proposal browser and even into your wallet when sending tokens where the name system is integrated as auto-complete in your principal input box (you can use your nicknames as an address book, and also see listed public potential recipients). A checkmark verification system exists for public names.
There’s more going on, as always, including our efforts around sGLDT (a wrapper token around GLDT with lower fees, extending the reach of the GLDT token into DeFi) but these are the highlights!
Thank you,
