Tendys sns after 3 years

Im gonna do the SNS review later today for TacoDao, you can expect an excellent review from me as always, anything you have noticed already or want me to look at? @Phasma

I’m interested to see your perception of tendies and its development since 2023.

Don’t forget that tendys put an ai on the ic in May 2023

please note that I moved the thread to the Community / SNS Launch Proposals category.

Proposal 139382 Review | Gabriel Nicola - CO.DELTA △

VOTE: [NO]

TLDR: This SNS launch doesn’t follow the guidelines so that’s automatically a no.

For what’s it worth I prefer chicken nuggets.

PS: please re-submit this following the guildelines.

You may wish to follow the CO.DELTA known neuron if you found this analysis helpful.

CO.DELTA △

We’re a verifiably decentralised collective who review IC deltas (changes applied by NNS proposals). We follow a common code:

  • Look: We observe the details and context of NNS proposals
  • Test: We test and verify the claims made by those proposals
  • Automate: We automate as much as possible by building increasingly sophisticated tools that streamline and strengthen the reviewal process.

Every vote cast by CO.DELTA is the result of consensus among diligent, skilled and experienced team members acting independently. The CO.DELTA neuron follows the vote of D-QUORUM on NNS topics that the CO.DELTA team does not handle directly. You can therefore follow CO.DELTA on all topics and rely on the highest quality of vote.

Proposal 139382 Review | rem.codes - CO.DELTA △

VOTE: :cross_mark: No

TLDR: Because the initial SNS configuration has changed compared to the currently proposed version, and the community hasn’t been given enough time to properly review these updates, I unfortunately have to vote No.

In addition to that, I believe there are several issues with the configuration that could have been addressed with proper review time. Some of these include:

  • The configuration allows only two participants to reach majority voting power. While there may not be much to gain from this setup, it does undermine the purpose of using an SNS.
  • No canisters to be governed are included in the configuration, making this more of a promise than something verifiable. In your previous post, you listed several canisters that could have easily been added.
  • It’s unclear how the DAO will sustain itself. Running an SNS is quite costly, and if the minimum raise target is met, it’s doubtful whether this will support operations in the long run.

I think the problem is in the logo

made you a new one

Much better than frog nuggets

@Henry_Suso 1roposal139382 Review Dexter

Voted [NO]
Reasoning:

  1. the proposal needs to have .yaml file that the “reviewers” can put it into the analyzer, its not provided.
  2. I do not see why this needs a SNS or a DAO,

No details provided about what exact canister, apps, and or actual value of having tendy’s as a SNS.

Question to @Henry_Suso
What problem does the Tendy’s SNS solve?
What is the value adition for the participants & the network?
What do you try to achive with this sale, besides getting ICP into the treasury?
What does the roadmap, the timeline and the cost of the development look like?

What did you develop or change or improve since the last try of SNS a year ago?

For me its a NO,
Glad to Disscuss once you provide
A github with the yaml file and the project
Answers to the questions.

Cheers Dex

Creating an SNS via toolkit will not provide a yaml file (this is by design) if you check the review page you find everything you need. If you miss certain data feel free to reach out so I can add it.

Also see;

What value additions do you bizzare YouTube selfie videos offer to the network?

Plenty I’d say, and he’s not proposing to build an SNS around them so your point is silly.

You are the one seeking a SNS, Not me

Please answer the questions provided

Tendys deserves an sns. We will pay for all canisters and will register the following

A NTN neuron with around 500 NTN

Dragonwizards.club

SVAULT.app

Tealeaf.cash

A couple Icp neuron

And the tendys lp.

You are newer to the ecosystem than tendies heyday.

It would be a fast moving, nimble defi dao.

The sns is filled w good projects and absolute garbage products

A tendys sns asking for nothing shouldn’t be that hard.

Edit: Icp at a network is being ruined by named neurons and grant recipients and I 100% believe the gatekeeping around the sns is a reflection of the network as a whole.

this gatekeeping only makes sense if there was a neuron fund to protect.

@Henry_Suso isnt asking for that.

This is not an endorsement of tendies, just an endorsement of freedom, to use the governance system that was built for projects to use.

I hope if this doesnt pass you will resubmit your project.

As far as i can tell nothing @Henry_Suso has posted here is deliberately misleading. Its a memecoin with meme projects (and some real ones). What is so bad about that?

Thats a lot better than many sns projects that have been started on downright misrepresentations of what they were.

Maybe if we keep telling people we don’t want them around, it will attract more users to the ecosystem.

“You are new here so I don’t need to explain things because I have been around” isn’t a valid argument

SNSs are free to launch. There are numerous ways to launch an SNS, and the launchpad is only one way. It’s intentionally permissioned, while the others are permissionless. The launchpad is reserved for high quality SNSs, as they’re showcased, and result in significant FUD if found to underperform. The decentralisation sale is designed to decentralise something - not nothing but promises.

If we’re to start saying that anyone and everyone should be able to launch an SNS (already the case), what we’re really saying is we should get rid of the launch pad and decentralisation sales. But that’s not a good idea.

There are very few great ideas, that are well implemented, and a perfect fit for the SNS launch pad. That doesn’t mean we should lower the bar to the point where the bar becomes pointless.

I get where youre coming from.

Im just going to say this.

Its going to be very eye opening to the community if this project doesnt pass. After people have seen all the fraudulent ones that have.

@Lorimer
I realize that you have always been critical of sns projects (as far as i can remember) and repeatedly asked community to reconsider to avoid these traps no avail.

While you and @bitel911 are the faces here taking the heat right now. My comments arnt really directed at the two of you.

Theyre directed at the real decision makers, who know who they are. Who have allowed countless fraud to be greenlighted through this governance system over the last 2 years. Projects that blatantly lied and made questionable financial moves which defrauded the entire community of neurons funds.

But now youre thinking about pulling the red lever on tendies because @Henry_Suso isnt in the club. Just think about it before you do it. Its a real mask off moment.

This is false logic.

Its not logical, or rational at all.

The truth seldom is.
