Have been more than 3 years in the ICP ecosystem, never thought that the ecosystem key projects is lead by ppl like Bob Bodily? If we do not change thing, everything will be late, all ppl will run out of ICP.
All three collections were promised to the DAO in the initial conversations with Dfinity (proof is available in the Motoko discord). So far, canister control and royalties have only been provided for Ghosts. It seems Dfinity will have to get involved for the DAO to get what is rightfully theirs.
Okay, well thank you for clearing that up. The name is obviously not necessary. Still ridiculous this happened, but at least it is visible now and we can have a discussion. Thank you for looking into it so quickly
Me too brother. I bought the NFTs, leveled them up, inscribed them (35 NFTs), and now I can’t even see them in my wallet. The fact that Bob has been saying the same thing about the indexer for 5 months shows he’s not serious about fixing it. I don’t know if they can be salvaged at this point because Bob is extremely deceptive about what is going on and he’s a narcissist so unwilling to give up control.

your reply is also hidden, who’s controlling this? stupid system?
I guess somebody who has interests in gatekeeping the NFTs and ckBTC on the IC.
somebody foolish enough to think they can control the narrative by silencing dissent. But they are only adding fuel to the fire.
Here is an attempt to summarize the proof. Note I am an NFT noob so this is just presenting information in a way that people who may not wish to spend a long time sifting through discord chats can access. For people who have been in the trenches this whole time, please feel free to correct me. It has been an eye opening process!
From an outsider’s perspective it seems as if the goal was for the newly formed Motoko Ghosts DAO to be able to use Motoko Mechs and any future Motoko projects to raise ckBTC funds. Benefitting the DAO and the ecosystem as a whole as it would boost awareness of ckBTC.
While the handover was going, one of the new projects created was Sentinels. An unamed person whom I will give the alias “Backdoor” saw an opportunity here.
Post handover, the non-DAO Motoko Ghosts group (including Backdoor) decided they didn’t want to fulfil the Dfinity foundation’s wishes and instead pretended Ghosts never existed and Mechs and Sentinels were their ideas/property.
Even just that last part seems odd in itself to me as Motoko Ghosts were the whole reason Motoko is a thing on ICP, but that really is the least of it.
As you see from the screenshots, there were at least three people from Dfinity who supported the Motoko DAO gaining possession of Mechs and Sentinels.
Do your own research and form your own opinions, join the Motoko discord(s) and help decide what is right!
So are you saying Toniq labs stole $400,000 of value here and that we have proof, and nobody’s going to jail?
What would define as stolen? there are still some funds left from the sales for the DAO too.
You can always ask Bob for receipts tho
Hi all, just to give some clarity to the screenshots and the convo above:
- Most of the X DM screenshots in the doc are from a conversation between @Accumulating.icp, the team at Sonic and some people from DFINITY (myself included, obvi). They occurred before the MOTOKO DAO was formed, but after the airdrop was announced. The context of the discussion was around envisioning MOTOKO DAO as way more than a memecoin and involved us brainstorming ways in which the DAO could dream bigger. I’ve very pleased with the leadership of MOTOKO DAO and how they have continued to dream bigger and bigger.
- There was a break in many of the comms of that group as many of participants became involved in other activities (personal and professional), so the conversation around the Sentinels ownership kinda got left behind. There’s no reason it can’t be pick up now, though.
- Regarding treasury of the Sentinels, some of the funds have been used to hire a marketing lead who has been creating a lot of great marketing content for Motoko and to pay for the artwork of the collection. Other than that, there remains a decent treasury. The Sentinels team has kept robust accounting and receipting, so all funds are accounted for. If the collection is turned over to the DAO, obviously those funds could be included (similar to what was executed for the Ghosts).
- While I don’t want to put words into someone’s mouth, I would interpret the posts by motoko0_0 more from the perspective of not wanting to step on the Motoko DAOs toes (when they became owners of the Ghosts), not as a way to be combative.
Happy to answer any additional questions. All in all, I’d love to contribute to the Sentinels project achieving its best path forward.
Thanks for speaking out, Kyle It sounds like we are on the same page about Sentinels & Mechs going under the DAO. When can we expect this transfer to be made?
Shouldn’t take long, I would imagine. It’s just a matter of what, bringing everyone up to speed on the agreement? No reason that can’t be done in an email, with say 5 bullet points, in one afternoon.
Unless there is some reason for a delay that I’m not quite picking up on here.
Do you realize that a large number of people don’t want all collections to be under the DAO?
The people who are now in charge of all the processes in the DAO are not trustworthy. They have created nothing but memcoin. They are just parasitizing other people’s labor by killing the prospects of collections. Let them play with their memcoin and Ghosts, and stay out of other collections that people who don’t want anything to do with DAO and its creators have moved on to.
Hey Kyle. Thanks for this reply. I know some people are still upset and have concerns, but it sounds like this was a legit misunderstanding. As long as the discussions proceed in a timely manner, I think the DAO will be happy. Thanks for looking into this (and for being a part of the arrangement from the beginning)
Everyone I talk to is absolutely against moving the Motoko Sentinels under this gray DAO!
Kyle, under no circumstances should you give up the Sentinels!
They were never his, or Bob’s to begin with. Glad to see you back after three years, Kira.
Hey @Kyle_Langham. Can you give us a date? like how much longer you are going to delay it?
@Enom I also know the controversies around the Token Generation for Motoko DAO. If I remember correctly they collaborated with DFINITY and Toniq with this.
the Motoko DAO people found the backdoor and the scam and published it.
Did you do anything remotely close to this? Draining the swamp?
Please don’t forget Motoko Mechs 3D, a neat and complex collection, but it’s quite undervalued and not noticed by the community.
Yes Motoko Mechs were launched by DFINITY too. They launched it on Toniq’s marketplace, like all the other times.
