Taking Motoko Sentinels Back

Ok next on the list is taking Motoko Sentinels back from Toniq/Entrepot/whatever they’re called.

The foundation said originally that this collection was going to be in the hands of the Motoko DAO, and Sentinels being a revenue stream for the DAO.

Bob Bodily managed to take control, and we know that he’s never going to give it back willingly.

Now with the resurgence of the MOTOKO DAO and the Motoko Ghost NFTs (trust me I’m just getting started), it’s time to take back what was stolen.

Any ideas what to do here? Lawsuit? Clone the collection and just start again on the IC? How many NFTs do you think are controlled by people without the IC’s best interests at mind?

@bob11 @Kyle_Langham

Also I suggest this is a good time to add more KYT gatekeepers to the network.

Strange that this was hidden & unlisted so quickly, given this is all verifiable in the Motoko Discord

Maybe it’s an inside job?

The post was flagged as Inappropriate. I see:

  • Serious accusations of wrongdoing
  • Calls out specific people
  • ZERO evidence provided

As-is I consider OP to be witch-hunting. Add some evidence, link to sources, give the basis for a reasonable discussion. Then I’ll gladly reject the flag

ok Severin, evidence coming

How hidden work so quick? automatically? why we cannot see that on the square?

Usually a flag is enough to hide a post, even before someone reviews it. I think it also depends on the trust level (or maybe how often review agreed with that user’s flags) of the user that flags the post if that is sufficient to hide it already

many ppl like me spend ckbtc to buy a lot. I think Bob Bodily need to return control to the DAO.

Selling Motoko Sentinels in ckBTC, who got the money and where is the money now? @bob11

Much of it is still in the treasury. Some has been spent on marketing and maintenance as well as initial design fees.

don’t flag me bro, I spent a whole 3 seconds doing this edit.

Primarily, the Motoko DAO needs the control it was promised and the royalties it is owed. Then we can pursue what to do about the NFTs themselves.

Personally I’m fine with moving it to the IC since I never liked that it was on BTC anyway, but we would still need to get the royalties for the DAO first. Like many, I spent money upgrading my Sentinels and inscribing them, so it stinks that would be a loss. But at least we could get everything on the IC and we don’t have to deal with Bioniq or Magic Eden anymore.

It doesn’t have to be verified in the discord. The two people he tagged both know the post is 100% accurate. Dfinity can just ask either of them. If they have a bad memory, yes the receipts are in the discord. But let’s hope everyone can handle this like men.

I was hoping this could be handled in a civil manner, but the only way the post got flagged so quick is by someone who was tagged. And since both of those people know the post is accurate, I’m already disappointed by how this is being handled.

The Motoko DAO are the rightful controllers of all the official Motoko NFT collections as per the agreement with Dfinity (see proof in the discord that accumulating posted) and should also be in control of the royalties. It’s really not disputable as the foundation agreed to this in screenshots posted in the discord server (many of which are conversations with Kyle himself, which is no doubt why he was tagged). I don’t see why further Dfinity staff need to waste time on this. It should have been handled nearly a year ago.

if your posts havn’t been flagged this week you’re probably on the wrong side. Or maybe just too polite.

edit: the irony that this post was flagged. do it again, for the lols

Bob Bodily is the black sheep of the ICP community, comparable to BM in the cryptocurrency circle. He used the resources given by the dfinity foundation to make something that didn’t work, and then he ran away, leaving a mess behind. Stoic wallet didn’t work, so he ran away. Entrepot exchange didn’t work, so he ran away, leaving a mess behind. He created a new Toniq, but it didn’t work either. He created Bioniq to sell Motoko Sentinels, but it didn’t work either after a while. I believe it won’t be long before Odin Fun will start running away again.

Yes, this is why we can’t have nice things.
