onesec.to is a new bridge from ICP to Base, Arbitrum, and Ethereum. You can bridge ICP out and USDC in, in less than a minute. You do not need to worry about gas or gas fees either as they are automatically handled for you.
Is this with chain fusion?
This part is great. finally someone did this. Thanks.
Edit:
If you dont mind asking how is this possible?
Apps like oisy take up to 20 minutes to bridge ck/usdc to usdc cross chain.
Yes, it’s leveraging chain fusion tech.
OneSec is working a bit differently than ck tokens, we are leveraging merkle proof to reach a higher throughput and speed. Documentation coming soon.
Another key difference is that you don’t need gas when using oncesec.to
No, this is USDC the ledger id is 53nhb-haaaa-aaaar-qbn5q-cai
. It’s gonna be integrated to the https://dashboard.internetcomputer.org/ soon hopefully to avoid confusion.
Circle USDC or Onesec USDC?
AI really doesn’t like my posts
Circle USDC is not here yet.
Bridged USDC (OneSec)
Does that mean youre in talks with them to make it happen?
DFINITY are according to there roadmap.
Oh nice. I see it’s already integrated onto KongSwap. Of course it’s not very liquid but it doesn’t really need to be since it can be bridged out to other exchanges for now.
I think it’s a solution for now but its value is derived from one’s ability to use your bridge to get out. If the bridge canister fails or is deleted, one can be stuck with “USDC”.
This is true, but that applies to any assets on ICP, right? If the CKBTC canister is deleted, how do you get your Bitcoin out? Somebody’s going to have to do something to restore it or something. My question to the team is how will they decentralize the canister holding all these assets?
We’re going to hand over the canister to the NNS
The canister will be controlled by the NNS to mitigate those risks.
Context:
- I know nothing beyond this forum post about Onesec
- Regarding NNS controlling application canisters
- Public Utility Canisters and the NNS - A rarely used veto option
How do you imagine NNS control to work? AFAIU from the two linked threads Dfinity will not really cooperate on this if upgrades are needed. Wouldn’t this effectively blackhole the canister?
