Yes I followed those exact same steps, I can even get the older devices that had access to that identity, I set a name but when I log in with that identity, I get a compeltely different principal id and empty assets.
So what happened is that the migration itself broke my NNS account.
well if there’s an option to log in with my legacy identity on the NNS might as well I’d be able to gain access to my assets again, however there isn’t any
I also noticed every time I migrate a legacy identity and then try to log into the NNS, the principal id changes, so what’s the point?
As long as you have your account seed phrase you can use it to restore II 2.0, because same seed works on both. But try to figure out what you doing wrong first, make sure you have correct account that you actually logged in to that NNS account.
ok so while I write this, I’m going to documents the steps I took in
1- went to the nns and clicked on Sing in with Internet Identity
2- identity.ic0.app opens up (on the top of the login panel says “Upgrade”)
3- click Upgrade and then says → Let’s get started, input your identity number
4- I type in → 1968705
5- Says Identity already upgradeded. This identity has already been upgraded to the new experience, you can continue with Use existing Passkey in the login Process.
6- There are 2 buttons HELP & FAQ / Upgrade again
7- I click on Upgrade again (asks for my passkey)
8- Name your identity (I’ll rename this as 1968705)
9- touch to sign in again (success screen)
10- automatically sends me back to the NNS
End result, I get a different principal and empty/blank assets
It is showing you 3, but if you made more of them, others are hidden. Look if there are more accounts. My image shows 1, but others are hidden under Use Another Identity.
Are you sure you’ve migrated the correct identity number? In most cases we’ve seen reported, users had multiple identity numbers and ended up migrating a different one than the one that held the actual assets.
Keep in mind that the lists of identity numbers stored in the browser are different between each domain, browser and device.
Additionally there’s a “lookup” button on the self service page that attempts to discover identity numbers for legacy passkeys (will all be named “Internet Identity”). Keep in mind the lookup button isn’t compatible with all legacy passkeys (e.g. YubiKey).
The challenge of finding and remembering identity numbers, is the very reason we’re moving towards discoverable credentials.
Exact same problem here. Just send an email support with all the details.
I am in the right NNS account because the staking is good. I have 4 account plus 1 Nano account.
There is only 1 account now, with different id than my main before
My nano still there but at 0 now (had only 1.?? icp in there)
All my account were at 0. I have upgraded while there was a disbursment going on but not finished yet. The disbursment went in my main account that I had before (can see in Neuron search)
Would like to suggest that the name of the passkey used is showing somewhere in the NNS so we know hat account we are in. Probably impossible. So could the old NNS number Id could be seen somewhere?
