New Node Provider Proposals

Thanks, Alex, for the clarification. I’ve submitted a forum post to provide greater transparency.

I am re-submitted a proposal to set Gen-1.1 rewards for my 42 nodes located in im2, Isle of Man. These nodes have now been fully installed and are ready to join the network, following their transfer from Atlanta and Boston to the Isle of Man.

Hi all,

Just a quick update – I’ve submitted a proposal to register as a new node provider. The proposal (#136493) is now up. I’d appreciate your support in voting to adopt it.

In terms of node planning, I have looked at data center options in Indonesia, Thailand, HK and Singapore.

Let me know if you have any questions/concerns.

Thanks,
Ant

Hey @BANG, I’ve looked at data centers in Indonesia, Thailand, Hong Kong, Singapore, and Japan for now. They seem reasonable in terms of quality and local support, with Indonesia and Thailand also looking relatively cost-effective. Let me know if you have any other questions.

Hey everyone,

I am submitting a proposal to set Gen-1.1 rewards for my 40 [1] nodes located in im1, Isle of Man. These nodes have now been fully installed and are ready to join the network, following their transfer from Atlanta and Marseille to the Isle of Man.

Please find the necessary information regarding my nodes under the new remuneration structure.

  • Self-Declaration Link: Blue Ant LLC
  • Node Count: 40 under the new remuneration structure
  • Data Center: im1
  • Node Deployment Confirmation: Two nodes have been deployed with IPv4 addresses and domain names.
  • Contact Information: Element/Matrix - @enzo.blueant:matrix.org
  • All nodes have been installed following the node provider documentation. A forum post outlining the setup process and key learnings will follow.
  • Reward type is 1.1, consistent with Proposal 136036 and further discussed in this forum post.

[1] I’m having hardware issues with two of them, hence 40 and not the full 42 originally bought from DFINITY

Hi Ant. When I checked the hashes between your proposal and the documents, they seemed to match up for the identity document but not for the self-declaration form. The hash I got for the self-declaration was f7e5756857fb4bae427128d9ace01dace7a99f4c23b056f6dca7be967743f6df.

Can you clarify this? Have I missed anything?

Did you not get rejected because you could not justify the vested interests and UBO??

here it is! Everyone at codegov seems to have voted for you. But your proposal got rejected 3 weeks ago @EnzoPlayer0ne

You seem to be trying to post with malice. I see you responded on this thread where Leo explains the path forward after the rejection and how they worked with the foundation to create a viable solution.

Hi @timk11,

Thank you for spotting this. I realized that while the hash corresponds to the correct file, I mistakenly uploaded the wrong version to the Wiki page, which included a typo in the country name. The rest of the form remains the same.

I’ve now uploaded the correct version (which matches the hash included in the proposal) to the Wiki and am awaiting approval for publication. Sorry for the confusion!

Proposal 136497 – Louise | Aviate Labs
Vote: Pending
Review:
@1eo Only 25/42 nodes appear to be online. If you are able to resolve the issues for these nodes prior to the end of the voting period and get 42/42 online, I will vote to adopt. Otherwise, I will vote to reject.

If the nodes with issues take longer to resolve, you could submit a rewards configuration proposal for the 25 nodes that are online.

Proposal 136504 – Louise | Aviate Labs
Vote: Pending
Review:
@EnzoPlayer0ne only 39/40 nodes are online. If you are able to get 40/40 nodes online prior to the end of the voting period, I will vote to adopt. Otherwise, I will vote to reject.

If the node(s) with issues take longer to resolve, you could submit a rewards configuration proposal for the 39 that are online.

FYI this is what the PEP ID should look like

It seems that your one has been altered or the scan didnt work as you are missing the FIN and the letters at the bottom. The barcode is also distorted.

The personal information (fingerprints, DOB etc.) is on the back of the card which is not what you uploaded, so there isn’t really a reason to hide these than I can think of.

Thanks for your feedback, @louisevelayo!

I assume you’ve already checked the dashboard. This issue seems related to IPV6 polling from the dashboard. We’re currently discussing this with @rbirkner and @pietrodimarco from the nodes team and DRE, respectively.

In the meantime, you can manually ping all 42 nodes to confirm that they’re online.

Thanks Ant. I’ll keep an eye out for this change. I will need to cast a vote soon but I’ll try to wait until Friday’s close of business in the relevant time zones. My approach to these sort of proposals (as a funded reviewer with CodeGov, but just my opinion) is that ideally the proposal text should serve as a source of truth for retrospective viewing, so I would want to see that there is a link and a hash in the proposal summary that correspond to each other. I’m not sure if it’s possible to add a new document on the same IC Wiki page but we’ll see what turns out.

I was also going to raise a similar point to @Thyassa in that your ID document does not seem to contain all the same details that I’ve seen on other PEP card examples. (One of our other team members pointed this out.) Any chance you could share a photo of yourself holding the card or even a video? You could just black out any details that you prefer to hide.

Following on from my earlier post, this is the official proposal for DragginCorp SARL to become a node provider.

DragginCorp SARL is a company with Adam and Donna Powell as the UBOs. It has been created for the express purpose of being a node provider within the principality of Monaco.

Should we be approved, our 42 nodes would be located in Monaco Telecom DC3. This data center has excellent security, power and networking architecture. In addition it is also eco-responsible. More information on the datacenter can be found here - https://www.datacentermap.com/monaco/monaco-city/monaco-telecom-dc3/ and here - https://monaco-telecom.mc/en/data-center/

Both Adam and Donna Powell have been active in the IC ecosystem since genesis and were seed investors. We are the creators of Dragginz (a 3D MMO built on the IC) and the Toko Marketplace and NFT maker. Whilst both are still in development, we post regular updates on our progress and are active members of the IC Community.

Hey @timk11,

Sure, completely understood. It looks like the Wiki page has been updated and the file now links to the correct hash. Let me know if you see anything different.

I’ve attached a picture of me holding the ID as requested. Please let me know if there’s anything else I can provide to complete the process. Thanks again for your help and feedback!

Hi Donna. Thanks for your detailed and helpful introduction. Can you clarify if you’re proposing to become an NP as an individual (or individuals) or as a company / SARL? A search for DragginCorp or “DragginCorp SARL” on the Monaco RCI search page here did not return any results. Is there another link we should be following or is there some documentation that you can share?

Also, I initially had some trouble getting the right hash for your ID document. This was when I right-clicked on the image and selected “save image as”. However when I used the download symbol at the bottom right of the page this saved the right version and gave a matching hash. Following the links from Node Provider Self Declarations - Internet Computer Wiki also gave the correct hash so I don’t think there’s any problem there. Just mentioning it in case anyone else comes across the same issue.
