Make voting power indirect + direct more transparent

We are developing a dashboard for WaterNeuron (https://wtn.ic.app) to enhance transparency in neuron voting power on the Internet Computer network. The dashboard should include:

  1. Total Voting Power: Display the aggregate voting power of all neurons.
  2. Voting Power Breakdown: Show the split between:
  • Direct Voting Power: Power exercised directly by neurons.
  • Indirect Voting Power: Power derived from following relationships.
  1. Public Neuron Data: Inspired by this motion proposal, which made some neurons public, integrate data from publicly disclosed neurons.
  2. Public vs. Unknown Ratio: Include a ratio of public neurons to unknown (private or unidentified) neurons, offering insight into the proportion of disclosed versus untracked neurons and highlighting network transparency.
  3. Following Influence by Topic: Using data from vpGeek - Internet Computer Voting Power Dashboard, estimate and display the influence of following known neurons on specific topics.

The attached image provides a visual reference for the dashboard design:

This dashboard aims to provide a comprehensive view of voting power dynamics and improve understanding of neuron transparency and influence within the network.

Thanks for sharing this @1eo, great to see WaterNeuron leading the charge in more ways than one! This is really great work by @quint.

I personally think displaying a known neuron’s voting power (both direct, and indirect/follower-based) is an extremely important detail when deciding who to follow. It allows users to knowingly give more power to a neuron that already has too much (rather than doing this unwittingly), and they could make a decision to support smaller neurons who they know also put in the work.

I think these sorts of details should be displayed in the NNS dapp against each known neuron, for both NNS and SNS neurons. cc @lara
