Hi everyone, my name is Afonso and I’m from Portugal!
I’ve been an ICP holder for some years and crypto enthusiast since 2017.
I’m not a developer, but I wanted to share an idea I had for a fun (I think ) and engaging web app. Maybe someone here finds it interesting enough to develop or collaborate on!
The concept is a real-time cryptocurrency price tracker, but with a twist: instead of the usual charts (candlesticks, lines, etc.), the price movements are visualized as simple 2D animations.
How it would work:
- Single Crypto:
- The price of a cryptocurrency would control the action of an animated character.
- For example:
- A climber scaling an endless mountain (up when the price rises, down when it falls).
- A monkey jumping between tree branches and slipping when the price drops.
- A balloon floating higher as the price increases or slowly deflating and descending as it drops.
- Multiple Cryptos:
- If tracking multiple assets, it could turn into a race, where each cryptocurrency is represented by a simple 2D vehicle or character (e.g., cars, runners). The leaderboard updates in real-time based on price performance.
Why it could be cool:
- It makes tracking prices more engaging and fun, even for people who don’t like staring at charts.
- Many casual traders and enthusiasts already keep price charts open on a secondary screen—this could serve as a fun and refreshing alternative.
- Gamification of crypto tracking could even open up opportunities for additional features, like leaderboards or small competitions.
Tech Suggestion:
It might be a great fit for an Internet Computer-based project. The IC could handle backend tasks like fetching price data from APIs and storing user preferences, and maybe it can bring a lot of people from other places.
What do you think? I’d love to see someone bring it to life! I have +5years in marketing and currently unemployed ahah I’d love to contribute but I have 0 coding experience whatsoever. I tried to make it with Chatgpt but I was always getting problems fetching the api from coingecko or whatever.
Although my english is decent, I also used ChatGPT to help structure my post and tried to make it simple to understand ahah, thanks
