Front Row is a decentralised ticketing exchange which offers event organisers fully on-chain, dynamic and tradable digital ticketing. Front Row has capitalised on the recent growth in the ticket resale market by creating a secure, immutable marketplace for event attendees to trade their tickets at will. In addition, the marketplace introduces a new income stream to event organisers who can directly benefit from the resale market through creator royalties. The platform has recently added the features detailed below to improve the ticketing experience for event attendees and organisers.
Mobile Scanner App
- Front Row uses threshold ECDSA encryption standards to provide an encrypted access QR code for each ticket sold and traded. The encrypted QR codes are scanned through the Front Row mobile application which checks that the ticket is legitimate and has not been previously used to access the event.
Verifiable Credentials
- Front Row has become an issuer of Verifiable Credentials (VCs), allowing event organisers to receive a verifiable list of users having attended the event. The VC canister functions in association with the Front Row scanner app. When a ticket is scanned at the entrance of an event, a request is sent to the VC canister which returns a proof of attendance record to the ticket holder’s wallet. This proof of attendance certificate can be used by the ticket holder to validate their attendance. Event organisers are therefore free to drive further attendance to their next events by offering benefits to regular attendees such as giveaways or free tickets. The process of issuing VCs to the attendee’s wallets is shown below.
