If anyone has information regarding potential corruption on the Internet Computer, whether related to node providers, developers, or any other parties, please share your insights or evidence in the comments below. This will allow us to investigate and consolidate all relevant details within a single forum post for clarity and efficiency.
What’s all this? This is a local network for local people, we’ll have no trouble here!
CodeGov really want to keep the Bassadone nodes. That’s two NO votes now on this recent round of proposals. That’s just the way Curly Jefferson voted.
CodeGov reviewers believe there should be an NNS agreed upon work process for allocating nodes to subnets. DFINITY placed these nodes in the same subnet to begin with because there are no current rules against it and it achieved higher decentralization metrics at the time. There was no information provided in the Motivation section of proposal 135839 to change it and there is a generally accepted expectation that a Motivation is required to make a change. I think we are heading in the direction of identifying clusters of node providers with known and acceptable relationships and using that information in the DRE tooling when deciding how to allocate nodes, which makes a lot of sense, but that hasn’t been formally defined or agreed to yet.
It’s misleading to say that CodeGov wants to keep Bassadone nodes (@GAbassad). What we stand for is data based decentralization metrics, well defined node provider selection and onboarding policies, community engagement in the proposal review process, collaboration with DFINITY and other reviewers in the community who are trying to make smart decisions about how to keep the network decentralized and fair, due process when suspicion is raised, and professional engagement on all aspects of Subnet Management, Node Admin, and Participant Management proposals and decisions.
This is not what we have observed from you @borovan. I don’t appreciate your style of witch hunts and claims of collusion based on extremely weak evidence. We certainly are not persuaded that Bassadone is a bad actor. His attendance at your daughters birthday party certainly doesn’t seem like justification for getting targeted by you. You antics on forum proposal threads like “Drain the Swamp”, “Remove 32 Node Providers”, and “SYBILing Nodes…” seem more like a rich man throwing a temper tantrum and putting a target on peoples back just because you can get away with it. It’s unprofessional and I believe will eventually prove to be a harm to the internet computer when people outside the forum start to realize just how much power and influence someone like you has on this ecosystem. You are an insider who knew the founder before the idea of the internet computer existed and you became one of the very first investors. This gives you a lot of power and influence that everyone in this ecosystem has to live with because you own your massive voting power. Yet your proposals and forum posts come straight from the playbook of a meme coin or NFT Discord server. How can businesses and governments take the internet computer seriously when they see you throwing your weight around like this and recognize that you literally own 7% of the NNS voting power and can influence up to 15% of total voting power in the NNS to follow your lead on proposals like 135750 that are 100% opposite of the core principals that make blockchain decentralization valuable.
There is no evidence that you have presented so far that makes me think you have proven any wrong doing by Bassadone or anyone that has a relationship with him as originally presented on proposal 135636. Perhaps there is and we’d be happy to listen and review it, but so far you haven’t presented anything substantial.
Regarding this specific proposal 135839, I’m cross posting our reviews for visibility. I think most people would agree that these are reasonable justifications for our vote to Reject.
Hey @wpb , still not giving any explanation for why you’re resorting to name-calling here?
Sounds like someone is jealous they don’t have more voting power.
We are standing for what is right
And we are not letting this corruption happen any longer!!
Wenzel could you please read the topic this post isn’t for you to write your novels on.
It’s for corruption evidence and information
So I’m asking you to politely leave because you are ruining it.
Thank you

My apologies for feeling the need to tag so many top level people at DFINITY. I rarely tag most of you and have never tagged some of you. There are a few others that I wish I could tag such as Josh Drake, Pierre Samaties, Juliana Chi, and Ricardo Coli, but I don’t know their forum user names.
I’m tagging you because I want to draw your attention to the concerns that I have expressed in this forum thread. It’s still a minor thread that hasn’t drawn much attention, but I think it’s important to bring to your attention a growing concern about Adam (@borovan) and how he is conducting himself on the forum and with his recent spree of proposals he has made recently (Motions and Participant Management). I think his actions will become a risk to the internet computer and that there needs to be an official response from DFINITY regarding the credibility of the claims he is making publicly.
I have observed Adam comment in various socials that he intends to get specific people at DFINITY fired, that he intends to get the grant funding that is available to CodeGov cancelled, and that he plans to pursue legal action against me personally for my engagement in ICP governance over the years.
He has the resources at his disposal to cause damage. He is actively recruiting people to provide evidence of wrongdoing here on the forum and in his own private channels on the Dragginz Discord server. Of course, there will be nothing credible to be found against me, CodeGov, or Synapse that proves any wrongdoing because there is no wrongdoing. Hence, I will confidently continue to challenge Adam on his poorly chosen tactics for how he is engaging in his drain the swamp initiative, while still remaining objective about any new evidence that he may bring to the surface.
However, I fear that his unprofessional behavior and unbelievable influence over the DFINITY foundation may present a major risk to the internet computer longer term for the reasons stated in my post above. Three of the most relevant forum discussions that have gained traction for Adam are “Drain the Swamp”, “Remove 32 Node Providers”, and “SYBILing Nodes…”. I have provided many responses to Adam in the various threads and I believe you will find that most of them are well reasoned and professional. Please read them yourself and draw your own conclusions.
In the event that you believe that CodeGov is not acting as an independent and credible contributor to the internet computer and helping to advance decentralization in a responsible way based on our participation in NNS and SNS governance, then you are welcome to revoke the grants that give us funding. DFINITY owns the grant program, so do with it what you think is best. Personally, I will not complain if our funding is revoked because I want what is best for the internet computer and my goal is to help advance decentralization. If CodeGov cannot be recognized as a credible and reliable option for people to follow, then I don’t want to waste my time any further. I would just respectfully request that you are transparent about the concerns about CodeGov that results in that decision.
CodeGov owns a negligible amount of the voting power that we trigger. The vast majority of the voting power we trigger comes from people that have chosen to follow us and CodeGov does not get to decide who follows us. They can just as easily choose to follow someone else any time for any reason. This is the beauty of liquid democracy and the Followee system. However, Adam owns his voting power and can do with it whatever he wants. People listen to him because he is rich and he is an insider. If he is making irrational accusations and decisions on proposal topics that actually make changes to the network, then that is a big deal and should be taken seriously. At the very least, someone who he trusts should try to sit down with him and have a rational discussion. I personally would like to see DFINITY offer an overall assessment of the accusations he has made regarding corruption and also offer a recommended path forward. This has gone on long enough that hopefully folks at DFINITY are able to provide an overall evaluation and status update to the community.
I seem to have touched a nerve! Funny how the narcissist acts when exposed, it’s always the same.
Why would I want to damage the Internet Computer? I’m locked for 8 years and have been building an awesome game on it for years with team of 14 people.
Why would YOU want to destroy the Internet Computer, Wenzel?
Man can you stop victimizing yourself?
Everyone can see your vested interests, shady affiliations and scams you promote here in the forums and outside.
Tagging DFINITY board members is not going to change or undo anything either. Maybe stop gatekeeping the network governance and this forum?
Wenzel there is no private channels only channels for people who want to save the IC from any wrong doings! Sorry if you have been left out of them, you probably don’t fit the criteria to be let in.
Hey Wenzel, stop trying to frame @borovan on the forum just to serve your own interests.
It’s obvious that you’re using this situation to push your own agenda, and it’s completely unethical. This kind of manipulation is harmful, and it’s only going to create more tension and distrust within the community.
I didn’t say that you want to damage the internet computer. I said that your irrational behavior, large voting power, and influence over the foundation could harm the internet computer. That doesn’t mean you intend to harm it. I’m sure you are doing what you think is best. However, it is woefully unprofessional.
Also, I’m getting quite tired of you claiming that you being locked for 8 years has any meaning. Most of us, including me, are locked for 8 years too. Hence, we fight for what is right. You are locked for 8 years at a level that is meaningful for you and I am locked for 8 years at a level that is meaningful for me. The fact that you are far wealthier than me carries zero weight in my book about the credibility of your opinion over my opinion. It will not stop me from telling you when I think you are wrong even if that means that you suddenly think I have crossed you.
We are making here a big asumption here by saying people are paying attention to Adam because he is an insider and he is rich. Couldnt be further from the truth. Trying to frame him as a rich hunginged villain isnt going to work. Simple as that. We are listening. And we can make our own assessments.
So let’s just highlight this for the record here: “His attendance at your daughter’s birthday party certainly doesn’t seem like justification for getting targeted by you.”
I don’t think this needs further comment. To everyone in the Adam fan club, think real hard about what kind of person you are supporting and what his motives are.
Would you please clarify what you know on this statement? In what way is it far from the truth? Is he an insider? Is he rich?
I did start the third biggest website in the world and sold it for $160 million.
That’s my understanding as well. I’d still like to know why @EgidoVal thinks that statement is far from the truth.
