Can DFINITY do something?

SNS DAOs are under siege from all sides by a green, grasping individual. It is imperative that DFINITY does not remain silent. Inaction would tacitly endorse the dangerous belief that power grants impunity. A first step must be the immediate removal of the critical proposals enabling this takeover. At the very least, DFINITY should issue a public statement clearly condemning Adam’s actions and reaffirming its commitment to fair and decentralized governance.

Do you mean condemn not condones?

its all AI who knows

Clearly DFINITY is too much focused on the AI narrative projects like Caffeine AI to care what @borovan does to the SNS ecosystem. Don’t forget also that him and Dominic are pretty well acquainted so unless he proceeds to attack DFINITY itself doubt @dominicwilliams will move a muscle to do something to stop him.

Ok what do you propose that they do?

They cant force other people to buy projects that nobody wants.

The environment has become far too toxic, at this rate, we risk losing the few developers we still have.

Yes, you are correct. Let us all leave because of what you just said. Nobody is developing because some drunk british guy revealed that a bunch of people in the ecosystem may be scamming.

Obviously they could either use NNS proposals to harden the SNS against hostile takeovers or freeze @borovan neurons proven to contain tokens bought with TRAX and other SNS treasuries.

Or both

hahaha you guys. you’re like the people who come on in the intermission and entertain the audience with slapstick comedy

There is one way to stop the siege “attack” of buying tokens, which a lot of projects hope for on a daily basis: bigger investors stop selling their ICP whenever they get it and start buying as well if they care

They could just speak to him, but at this point, the whole place feels contaminated. It’s honestly revolting to witness. The Solana crowd must be laughing, they don’t even have to lift a finger.

Ok, specifically what do you propose to change? Its really easy to point to a problem, but theres no easy solution.

I dont think we want to set a precedent of dfinity freezing neurons. Thats not a network i want to be a part of.

Limit neuron follower vp.

@Mico
Ok now atleast were making suggestions.

I thought about this too but the problem i see is what is to stop someone from having multiple neurons?

This wouldnt work unless theres some sort of kyc or proof of unique personhood along with it which has other problems.

I don’t think there are good products in the ecosystem right now.

Nothing is a complete solve but just like the treasury restrictions on daos it’s a bigger roadblock.

If they’re willing to do that then this is just as viable a solution for the takeovers and other vp issues

Im of the school of thought that you cant force decentralization through arbitrary parameters.

Decentralization will occur if the project is awesome and provides value to users.

If dfinity announced an SNS launch of oisy wallet tomorrow, everyone on this forum would buy it. Why? Because the project is awesome.

What i want is when new people come to the community and they check out the sns projects they see awesome projects like openchat, kong, oisy… im sure theres others but those are the ones i know best.

People will buy it because they have hype and it’s new.

The business model and revenue stream is what will make a normal product amazing.

Not true.

Very few (real people) bought many of the recent sns launches. We all saw what happened. Lots of real people would buy oisy because it has a working product that people use and it is valuable.

But yes i agree the tokenomics of the project must have a way to translate value from users to holders in some meaningful way beyond speculation.
