Beyond the SNS: Why Toko Could Be Its Natural Successor

I get what you’re doing, but I’ve got skin in the game - my entire career, everything. Ok drunkenly flipping off a load of weirdos on discord, I could probably up my PR profile, but this will be set up so I’m liable if I decide to steal the funds.

Everybody finds their own angle on how decentralisation can make them money, I don’t want to do that. I want to set the example.

This forum is a cesspit of paid saboteurs, I get it, you want to take over the IC and sell it via private equity. Not gonna happen on my watch.

Oh Mr. Borovan you’ve got it all wrong, mate.

I thought we straightened this all out but apparently not.

We’re not schemers, we just do things.

Anyways. Looking forward tokos launch, in November.

Maybe stop hiding behind your half-human half-AI persona hah.

No, nothing’s been straightened out. We did a deep dive on all the node providers and connected them to five UBOs. Embarassing, sure. Illegal, probably not. A PR nightmare, yes absolutely

I’ve got more skin in the game than most. We begged Dom to come and talk to us but he just ghosted. Now we’re just going to take the IC over and continue on the original mission (which was not just @dominicwilliams acting solo) and make it happen.

Wrong again. It’s all up here.

We do use ai to write code. Rarely to write posts. It takes all the fun out of it.

What would be fun is if people could mint and trade nfts which is why we are looking forward to November.

It feels like you’re fighting a battle you can’t win. You keep changing accounts, changing personas. I’d consider myself paranoid. But what I do have are a very particular set of skills, skills I have acquired over a very long time on the Internet. Skills that make me a nightmare for people like you.

Let’s remove the Dionysian performance and identify your actual argument.

Across this thread, you have made two reasonable points:

  1. Toko should prove itself by shipping a working NFT marketplace.

  2. Starting with one subnet and scaling from evidence is a defensible MVP strategy.

Fair enough. We have said November. That milestone will test whether we can deliver the marketplace.

But you now use “November” as a universal substitute for every other discussion:

  • Toko’s broader technical architecture: November.

  • Its governance model: users only want to trade NFTs.

  • The Benevolent Dictator problem: mock the “decentralisation zealots.”

  • Node-provider ownership concentration: “we’re not schemers,” then November again.

Launching a marketplace tests delivery. It does not, by itself, settle governance, decentralisation, scaling or ownership-concentration arguments.

And “half-AI” referred to your conspicuously constructed persona: the Dionysian voice, ironic flattery, drinking references and aphorisms that allow every challenge to remain deniable. I did not claim AI writes your posts.

So your response does exactly what I criticised:

  1. Replace criticism of the persona with an AI-authorship claim.

  2. Deny the claim I didn’t make.

  3. Mention AI-written code, which is irrelevant.

  4. Retreat once again to November.

Choose an actual proposition and defend it. Is Toko too ambitious? Should it remain on one subnet? Is its governance model unacceptable? Are the node-provider findings factually wrong?

“Wait until November” is a fair challenge on delivery. It is not a rebuttal to everything else.

Now we are very confused. It might be the wine.

We are not here to evaluate what you’ve done technically. We made no claims whatsoever about your code or what you shipped.

we just wanted to know wen toko, and we got our answer.

Maybe it thinks we are the inquisitive mechanic, but we are not we are just the guy with the glass.

Good we’re glad you agree.

You have to try harder than this. At present it is less Dionysus, Greek god of wine, and more puritanical keyboard warrior clutching a novelty goblet.

Your position is now:

  1. You made no technical criticism.

  2. You made no substantive claim about Toko.

  3. You only wanted to know “wen Toko?”

  4. You received the answer: November.

Fine. Then the discussion was over several posts ago. Everything since cannot now be retroactively laundered into an innocent request for a release date.

This is precisely what the persona facilitates: make insinuations, adopt a knowing tone and mock from the sidelines—but when asked to defend an actual proposition, pull the “maybe it’s the wine; we’re just the guy with the glass” escape hatch.

No, I did not mistake you for the inquisitive mechanic. A mechanic identifies what he thinks is wrong. You are knocking on the bonnet, laughing at the driver, and then insisting you merely asked when we would arrive.

You have also amputated my sentence:

“Wait until November” is a fair challenge on delivery. It is not a rebuttal to everything else.

Quoting only the concession and declaring agreement does not remove its limitation. November will test whether we deliver. It does not transform all your intervening commentary into “wen Toko?”

So I accept your latest clarification: no technical assessment, no substantive criticism and no claim to defend.

Just a man with a glass asking for a date.

November. You already had your answer.

The costume remains; the argument has disappeared.

Now you’re playing checkers Mr. Borovan.

Bravo! Well done.

Hah, AI changes everything. It’s going to be so much harder to be a liar, grifter and thief in the future.

Don’t take everything to heart. It’s just a bit of fun. And they say that no press is bad press.

We can just extract your ulterior motives from any post, which is priceless for people like me.

Ulterior motives?

Now I’m interested. This should be good do tell.

I’ll let you know if I find any. Just please keep on topic and give me my 1000 ICP back, any time, no rush.

Sorry you’ll have to ask that other fellow what was his name michael? Michol? Maybe it was nichol actually, gosh it was so long ago. He was a purple ghost, and if I see him I’ll tell him he needs to pay up.

On topic yes we are sorry… Toko that was the topic.

Trading NFTs because that would be awesome. If we could do that.

But we will in November because that’s what Mr. Borovan said and he’s a man of his word. Looking forward to that.

you are probably the last person on the planet to be the name suggestion guy

Cool!!!

I’ve been on board with you with $DKP for a long time. From day one thought Dragginz was an amazing project and, I just believed in you guys that you would get it done and that good chance it will becone a top worldwide played/addictive game despite all the issues you’ve been having with folks in the eco and despite people telling me, early on, that it may never actuallyrelease. I never stopped believing in you guys. I certainly didnt sell any $DKP (maybe stupidly as, I guess, I could’ve probably tripped up if sold on the stall and bought back now) but might have bought more…dont remember but, i have a decen position that im happy with. I also have a decent position in $MOTOKO which I locked, and still have locked, for the 90 day max time required for a $TOKO drop when it comes out. Im not being funny on the following, and obviously I could have it wrong as ill be 60 this month and I forget/jumble things up and don’t remember things clearly alot but, I could of sworn, at some point, you added $KONG to the $TOKO distribution if one held $KONG? Am I remembering that correctly or not? If not, all good. I could’ve sworn you said that and it was the reason I bought and held some $KONG…and still hold…maybe stupidly as well.

Anyway, im looking forward to great times ahead for the eco including your projects. I’m feeling that, over the next 6 to 12 months, alot of business is going to come our way causing the worldwide mainstream media to start taking about us and Dfinity/$ICP becoming a household name!!! #LFG

Great to hear this  I don’t know about KONG honestly, the original plan was to try and revive it. I still have to talk to the team about the treasury and how I can steal it legally and stuff.

TOKO should have some liquidity soon, and yeah we promise to do our best to provide value to all the tokens we’ve created/drunkenly renamed over the years.

Stick with us, we should have an amazing demo coming in a week or two.

Great!!! Appreciate the reply and totally sticking with you guys!!!

Well at least you’re not hiding it anymore now lol

Flypaper, it works, trust me.
