Hey everyone! We’re excited to share that Appic now offers a Cross-Chain EVM Bridge and a Twin Token Creator! You can try out the Binance Smart Chain to ICP features right now on the Appic Platform.
Here’s a quick demo video of the features:
Project Highlights
Two Big Features Delivered:
- Cross-Chain Bridge
- Twin Token Creator
Understanding the Appic Bridge
The blockchain world is made up of many networks, each with its own rules and systems. While this has encouraged growth, it also created barriers that make it hard to move assets and data between networks.
Why Do Cross-Chain Solutions Matter?
A cross-chain bridge allows data and assets to move between blockchains that can’t normally connect. For instance, Ethereum can’t communicate directly with Bitcoin, and Solana can’t easily interact with ICP. Without cross-chain solutions, these limitations hold back decentralized finance (DeFi) and other blockchain applications.
What Do Cross-Chain Bridges Do?
Cross-chain bridges enable the transfer of tokens across blockchains, allowing users to take advantage of multiple platforms seamlessly. However, traditional bridges can be risky and inefficient.
How Does Appic Solve This?
Appic eliminates risky bridges by using ICP’s Threshold ECDSA and Http-Outcalls for secure, direct blockchain-to-blockchain interactions.
Appic Bridge: How It Helps
-
For Users:
Appic Bridge is a simple way to securely transfer tokens across major blockchains like Ethereum, Solana, Arbitrum, and zkSync. Right now, you can bridge Binance Smart Chain (BSC) tokens to ICP tokens. For example, users can convert their BNB tokens on Binance Smart Chain into icBNB on ICP effortlessly. Currently, we have only connected BNB to ICP, but in the future, we plan to add support for more major EVM chains like Polygon, Arbitrum, and others. -
For Projects:
Appic Bridge provides APIs for projects to easily add cross-chain functionality. This saves developers months of work, speeding up deployments while ensuring security and performance.
Twin Tokens: A New Way to Use Crypto
Appic’s twin token infrastructure lets tokens exist on multiple blockchains at the same time. This creates better liquidity and usability across ecosystems.
What Are Twin Tokens?
Twin tokens are copies of a token that work on multiple blockchains. For example, a token created on ICP can also be used on Solana or Arbitrum. Additionally, users or projects on Binance Smart Chain (BSC) can create a twin or wrapped token on ICP. For instance, USDT on BSC can be mirrored as icUSDT on ICP through a simple and seamless process. This ensures tokens are valuable and usable in different ecosystems.
How Appic Helps With Twin Tokens:
Appic makes it easy for projects to create twin tokens with features like:
- Custom APIs: Developers can use Appic’s API to customize tokens for their project’s needs.
- Interoperable Standards: Appic supports both ICRC and ERC20 tokens, bridging the gap between them.
Use Cases:
- DeFi platforms can create twin tokens on ICP to attract users from other networks.
- Binance projects can leverage ICP’s speed and security while staying connected to their existing systems.

Future Plans
One of the biggest challenges we noticed is the lack of token liquidity on ICP. To solve this, we’re improving cross-chain bridges for the ICP ecosystem.
We’ve already built a bridge between ICP and EVM. Next, we’ll focus on connecting EVM chains to each other, and then back to ICP.
Stay with us as we continue breaking barriers and making blockchain networks work together!
