It was also voted yes by the Dfinity neurons lol.
Also Adam claims to have told Dfinity to do this.

Your questions have already been answered if you would just read this thread with an objective lens. The foundation owes you no further response.
Your style of engaging is a nuisance just like all your prior banned CatPirate accounts. It is clear you are just trolling for responses that you can further criticize.
Interesting solution. WTN just got a massive upgrade, congratulations to its holders. Much more decentralized now.
I was told by @marc0olo that no project should be allocating any tokens to DFINITY but…
1- How come this doesn’t apply to WaterNeuron, OpenChat, KongSwap and any other project? Double Standards This inconsistency undermines trust.
2- Why do you need to make a public statement and seek community approval of DFINITY’s decision making on allocating funds?
3- What is the purpose of DFINITY having more voting power over the NNS when it preaches decentralization but this is doing exactly the opposite?
4- Does anyone think that institutional investors won’t see through this?
DFINITY claims to promote decentralization, yet this proposal would give it more direct control over Waterneuron (24.9% voting power) and, by extension, the NNS (since Waterneuron’s ICP stake influences governance).
This is governance manipulation, harming IC’s credibility.
Because as Wenzel stated, it is in direct response to the distrust sowed by Adam Powell regarding Waterneuron and the Waterneuron team.
The 24.9% basically matches what DFINITY already has in voting power on the NNS so it doesn’t really change much but what it does is place a check on the majority voting power from David Fisher, Enzo, Wenzel etc.
Also, it adds more ICP to the pot and allows for the liquid staking to continue to pay a higher percentage APY.
If Adam and the conspiracy theorists didn’t push the issue, this wouldn’t have been an issue to begin with so stop the conspiracy theories and start working together!
This project won’t decentralize until there is actual mass usage and adoption anyways. When enterprises start utilizing UTOPIA and Caffeine and developing on the chain and finding real value in it, that is when there will be more press attention and more investors coming in and then wallstreet just like for the other crypto assets.
Great job Waterneuron team and it’s nice to see DFINITY supporting the premier liquid staking protocol on ICP as well as anyone who invested in it and believes in it.
Waterneuron, KongSwap, and OpenChat are three great projects and should be promoted however you’re right, other deserving projects need attention as well and I’m sure they will as time progresses.
Did you have a younger baby brother or sister who got more attention than you did as a kid and that’s why you have to complain about it? Are you jealous?
You have a bad way of interacting with others.
On one hand you spam daily things that have been answered, you talk like you are more qualified than anyone else when you’re not, you throw your opinion out while acting as if you are the voice of credibility when you’ve been paid to fud.
Not sure why you’re even on this forum anymore as you’ve been banned over 5 times in the last 2 months.
There you go. Ntn paid fudder.
After this I’m done replying to you in this thread. We all know you’re paid by ntn and that’s why you feel important. Reality is you’re the paid fool throwing tantrums acting like you smart.
Congrats on making a buck but there goes your credibility
So if Adam distrust a project that’s reason enough for DFINITY to take over more Voting Power?
The 24.9% isn’t matching, it’s stacking over the VP of Waterneuron, although it’s nothing compared to the +51% Voting power held by DFINITY and CodeGov altogether over the NNS.
If decentralization was the goal, why not distribute voting power away from insiders? if anybody out there really wants to buy and hold ICP anymore.
Waterneuron, OpenChat, KongSwap & co are respectable and highly skilled developers, known for their great execution, also for being former DFINITY employees, yet I’m not questioning their integrity or the value they bring to the ecosystem.
But the ICP ecosystem right now is a graveyard, dead projects, an entirely corrupted and dysfunctional system for grants. Meanwhile, developers that don’t fit the narrative or lack connections are starved out.
I’m happy for Waterneuron team & holders for getting 365k more ICP, don’t get me wrong on that, this is about sabotaging your own ecosystem, taking down competition and playing monopoly in the name of decentralization. This is just exposing the fake narrative and double standards of those who aim to manipulate the game.
Does anybody around here thinks this is fair game?
It was personal attack, nothing to do with voting power that people in WTN had.
Only reason to give that ICP to WTN is so that Dfinity get more VP in NNS. We actually dont know how much is real VP that they hold in NNS.
I started thinking that people must stop increasing staked token amount. To me it seems there is no plans from ICP founders to increase token price. So if price is kept 3-8 usd (20 years), we (investors) will be f-ed. The staked tokens that Dfinity has + its team (personal tokens), for them 5 usd is very suitable. Most people might have realized this (projects on ICP) and this is why we have so low projects.
Will see in few month after Caffeine launches, if nothing changes on how Dfinity operates, we as investors might need to move on.
You can never win here. You’re damned if you do and you’re damned if you don’t.
Had Waterneuron taken no action to remedy the distrust in the community, they would also still be attacked no?
Waterneuron is simply trying to spare their project and their hard work and their reputation which they have every right to do. The conspiracy theories and name calling are the real problem and the attacking projects which have good intentions is the real problem. And now your attacking DFINITY is the real problem.
The more you give people, the more they complain and want even more. You simply cannot please everyone. It’s not possible.
It’s not about winning, it’s about discussing ideas. After all that’s what a forum is about isn’t it?
I have no dog on this fight brother, I’m not under any grant, I was denied community funding over the SNS with bullshit and certainly not going back to request for more, I’m fine as an independent developer and community member.
It’s not conspiracy theories, I’m discussing here why DFINITY don’t play by their own rules and principles.
Okay. Well time to hear from Dfinity then. Let them explain why they felt the need to restore some faith in the Liquid Staking on ICP after the fallout here which has unfortunately affected the project negatively and has cost Waterneuron stakers and their reputation but it seems obvious to me. DFINITY is now standing behind it with their own stake.
I have a large investment in WaterNeuron so yeah I am biased! I also have a large investment in ICP and in other projects in the ecosystem.
Unless there is concrete evidence to convict the project or its founders of any wrongdoing, it is simply WRONG for Adam or anyone to call names, slander, ruin the reputation of, and esp. sling unfounded and paranoid conspiracy theories against others. It’s just wrong.
ICP needed a good liquid staking solution and it has one. You Adam cult followers need to stop bashing the project and the rep of Dfinity.
Adam has his own project to complete and focus on.
He has gone TOO FAR with all of this draining the swamp the stuff.
Instead of helping the community like he did with his initial investments and despite pointing out some cheating on the SNS and a few potentially bad actors, he is now causing some damage and driving investors away as well as hurting the investments that smaller investors like myself have made.
It’s very selfish and it needs to be pointed out.
Bravo to Waterneuron for doing something to save the project’s reputation and to DFINITY.
I just can’t stand some of you negative Fudsters on social media as well as here on the forum all the time all day long with your negative attitudes and causing chaos constantly. What is your purpose? I’m not the only one FED UP WITH YOU! Believe me!
Looking good, support this proposal.
You’re conflating two different entities here. DFINITY Foundation is a private organization that can invest its treasury however it chooses, just like any venture capital firm or private foundation. They announced their investment decision, not a governance proposal requiring your approval.
ICP is the decentralized protocol. DFINITY is not. When DFINITY swaps 365k ICP for WTN tokens, that’s private capital allocation, not a community decision. They don’t need to justify their investment thesis to forum users any more than Apple needs to explain why they bought a particular startup.
The fact that they framed it around “community concerns” might have created confusion, but it doesn’t transform a private investment into a public governance matter requiring your oversight.
Your 11 days of bumping posts for “official responses” misses the fundamental point: they’ve already given you their response by not responding. Private entities don’t owe explanations for internal capital allocation decisions to community members demanding accountability.
If you want governance transparency, focus on actual NNS proposals and protocol decisions. This isn’t that.
You do agree with them based on your approval of cicp being 90% governed by 3 wallets in ntn.
Wtn is decentralized by design and the governance is much more decentralized than the project you praise. It’s time for you to follow anvils lead and stop acting bias for a dollar.
Not true. Non-profit organizations have to be registered, and obey rules regarding their usage of funds in order to maintain non-profit status (which is different from country to country).
Operating as a foundation does not entail a duty to provide detailed explanations for every decision or respond to every question raised in forums.
@dimey78 The Holy cabal fanbase forum wars are on at least a year-long cooldown now. It’s time to build something for a change.
