Hey ChauDoan, fair game. I’m no veteran here. I’m assessing by what I read here lately, I’m still fairly new to ICP, but very interested. (Started looking into and buying $SEER when I saw the BTC prediction markets).
Brilliant in several regards (prediction markets usage driver, prediction markets currently best representation of (opinion) truth, and super valuable data for AI/agents) especially when combined with an agent platform, that Seers / @marcio set out to build, too (I assume this plan is still current as DFINITY posted it still 20 days ago after the BTC prediction market release).
The idea of an agent platform with clones on several chains / environments is great, especially given the sort of “multi-chain” nature of ICP. With the unique data from prediction markets, incentivized through quasi BTC staking (yield-creating), yes, brilliant, just my 2 cents.
As said, I haven’t witnessed the full history of Seers live, but I read up as good as I could.
On the pivots that Borovan criticized, I read that they started with the plan for a social network alternative, and it’s smart they pivoted imo. Then with the plan for an agent platform, which is still in place, as far as I can see. Combined with a prediction market, it’s really smart. Maybe something Borovan didn’t see in his assessment.
On the concrete proposal above, the request for ca. 0.5 BTC in DAO treasury for a collateral to secure the BTC on their platform, I think it would have been necessary for trust, given that BTC investors and not the most pro-risk investors on this planet (rightfully so).
And to be fair, I’m not the only one seeing this vast takeover of voting power as an issue:
The way I understood it, @marcio stepped away from the DAO, not from Seers.App itself. Yes they deactivated the Twitter handle, which is kind of a shame, but the dapp itself is still live, and the X handle can be reactivated any time.
I can imagine that if balance of power in the SNS DAO is restored with the help of @Leadership, that he could return.
You can see how they were motivated to build, actively working on their platform:
Anyway, hoping for the best
