Upcoming CLOAD SNS decentralization Sale

Some of our developers are located in regions with access restrictions—similar to how GitHub requests may be limited in certain areas due to policy or network constraints.
We do not want any team members to be forced to leave because of these limitations. This is precisely why we firmly believe in the transformative power of decentralization and Web3.
Our team has registered its information with Dfinity and Funded, and we have been deeply engaged in the ICP ecosystem for nearly three years.
To avoid unnecessary trouble and external interference, we have chosen to temporarily withhold personal information so that our team can remain fully focused on the ongoing development and optimization of the project.

Do you know their names, or would you have to ask them?

Nice research! I’m looking forward to what you hear back from the ones you reached out to.

Initial Review of CLOAD SNS Launch Proposal – Part 1: NF Request Doomed to Fail

Dexter here as part of my push for Voting Neuron Grants. I’ve got history with this project (invested in 2023 NFT sale), and while I’ll cover team/product issues later, let’s start with the big technical blunder: Their sns_init.yaml requests Neuron’s Fund (NF) participation – set to true – but that’s impossible right now. This shows straight incompetence from the team, like they didn’t even check basics before posting. Proposal will fail at creation, wasting everyone’s time unless fixed ASAP.

Quick YAML Breakdown and Why It Fails Guidelines:
From their GitHub (SNS_INIT/sns_init.yaml at main · CLOAD-App/SNS_INIT · GitHub):

  • Total Supply: 1B $CLOAD – Treasury 60% (huge control at start), Swap 23%, Team/Early Dev 12% (vested over 2 years?), Seed 5%.
  • Raise: Min 80k ICP, Max 800k ICP – Min participants 50, per person min 1 ICP / max 100k.
  • Vesting: 3 events every 3 months (short for anti-dump?).
  • Rewards: 2% initial to 1% over 3 years.
  • NF: true – Requests matching, but…

The NF Pause Kills It: Per Proposal 135970 (passed, https://dashboard.internetcomputer.org/proposal/135970), NF is paused since 2025 – no SNS can request it, proposals with NF=true “always fail” and “can’t be created.” Dominic’s guidelines (DFINITY thoughts on SNS/decentralization swap proposals) and voting post (DFINITY's voting on upcoming SNS launch proposals) stress higher NF standards (e.g., on-chain maturity, no over-reliance), but pause means reject anyway. No unpausing happened – team should’ve known this from forum/motion thread (Motion proposal to pause the Neurons' Fund - #19 by BANG).

This incompetence? They ignored a year-old pause, didn’t align with basics like no NF

Now let’s talk team. I’ve been in their Discord since the 2023 NFT sale (invested myself), and the communication’s a mess. Team (led by teihaku, no doxxing) is polite but super lax, non-responsive, and full of excuses – financial constraints, “new ideas,” plugin issues – leading to endless delays. They’ve got vague promises like “smoothly progressing” or “won’t take long,” but reality? Stalled for 2+ years, bugs unresolved, users losing faith and demanding refunds. This doesn’t match their shiny roadmap at all, which claims steady foundation/growth but shows no delivery. Feels incompetent for NNS – they can’t handle basics, how’ll they govern a DAO?

Team Communication Breakdown:
From Discord chats (screenshots from Jan 2024-Mar 2025), here’s the pattern:

  • Non-Responsive and Evasive: I asked for status/milestones multiple times (e.g., April 2024: “Specific dates?”), got “uncertain but smoothly” or “expect before July.” July missed, then “around October” (Sept 2024), then “progressing, won’t take long” (March 2025). Users like ahmedwael beg for updates after 1+ year (“need my money bro”), team just apologizes without action.
  • Bug Handling Fails: Wallet bugs lost ICP (e.g., Jan 2024: dishum/User93 lost 10 ICP each to duplicate addresses – team blames user mistake, no refund, “solving” but no follow-up). File uploads risk malware (June 2024: torrent links, no verification – I suggested hashes/check marks, team “consider it” but defers to “next version”).
  • Financial Excuses Dominate: March 2024 apology: Postponed ICC dev due to “no profit from testing,” resources only for main tasks. But roadmap says 2024 is “growth” – how if broke? No transparency on funds from NFT sale.
  • Ignored Community Input: I offered dev testing (April/June 2024: “I’m a developer, let me help”), got “invitation open” but no GitHub (still “not ready for open source”). Suggestions (malware warnings, Telegram group) noted but ignored – e.g., user wants group for early investors, team silent.
  • Frustration Boils Over: Users call it “scam” (dishum), demand refunds (Feb 2025: “coin not launched”), or warn others (me: “inform investors you’re not serious”). Team: “Hope won’t let down,” “apologize for inconvenience” – no fixes, just hopes.

Roadmap vs. Reality Mismatches:
Their forum roadmap looks pro, but Discord proves it’s fiction – no alignment, just delays/excuses.

  • 2023 Foundation: Claims Beta on mainnet, core modules/UI/social/file upload done. Reality: 2024 starts with broken wallets/files (lost funds/malware risks), no stable Beta – if deployed, why bugs persist?
  • 2024 Growth: Rebuild/launch official version, token trading, sharding uploads, SNS start. Reality: March apology postpones features for finances; June “Motoko complete but integration not”; missed July/Oct launches; sharding/files still “next version” issues; SNS delayed from June (May forum) to 2025+. No multi-language/mobile proof.
  • 2025 Expansion: On-chain trading, partnerships, optimize governance. Reality: Early 2025 chats still pre-launch, users raging over no progress – no trading/partnerships mentioned, just “progressing.”
  • 2026 Planned: Cross-chain/advanced. Reality: If can’t launch basics by mid-2025, this is pipe dream.

This screams incompetence – team can’t execute, communicate, or fix. Doesn’t meet guidelines like maturity/traction (Dominic’s post: working product needed)

Checking the forum thread (Upcoming CLOAD SNS decentralization Sale), community from #23 on is asking sharp questions about product progress and listings – e.g., if apps/games are real or fake placeholders, why no updates, and risks of extraction. Sentiment’s mixed: Some hype the idea, but many flag delays/FUD, echoing my point:

What you see now (Aug 2025) is the same stagnant version from end-2024 – no inch of progress. Searches show similar concerns in other threads (e.g., long waits, shattered dreams in older SNS discussions).

Head to their Discord yourself – all the chats are there, proving non-responsive team/missed promises. I’ve screenshotted ours in case they delete. CLOAD team, challenge any claim here – prove me wrong with yaml fixes, code, refunds.

Personally, this isn’t SNS-worthy – it should be an honor to launch, not a pocket-filler. Despite my investment, I’ll vote NO to set a professional standard. Thoughts?

I might understand the reason for your unprovoked attacks — it’s likely because you’re developing an NFT marketplace called Toko, while our product already includes NFT market functionality. However, attacking competitors is not the right approach to competition. Even without us, there would be others in this space. You cannot target every team developing NFT markets. Many of us have worked at DFINITY and completed KYC verification. Notably, Dominic even followed our Twitter account two years ago. We welcome reasonable suggestions and are all ears to constructive feedback, but please fully experience our product before making any accusations.A Super DAPP - CLOAD (User Manual)

We must continuously onboard new projects to the ICP ecosystem, which is why we actively engage with numerous teams rather than lingering indefinitely on any single unproven initiative. Unlike projects that frequently launch ‘Gen 1,’ ‘Gen 2,’ or ‘Gen 3’ NFTs to raise funds through successive sales, we’ve dedicated three years of sustained effort to a single project—iterating from an MVP to the feature-rich platform it is today. If quick profits were our goal, we could have easily minted waves of NFTs or meme coins. Instead, we chose to focus silently on refining a product that delivers real value.

I believe that if we want to see the ICP ecosystem thrive, we should at the very least refrain from attacking other projects within the ecosystem—even if full collaboration isn’t always possible. Targeting fellow builders won’t lead to your own project’s success. Instead, focus that energy on building.

We get it – you’re saying you’ve put in 3 years on this without chasing quick cash grabs like serial NFTs or memes. But here’s the thing: That doesn’t build credibility when the team stays fully anonymous after all this time. No doxxing, no self-declaration docs on the wiki (as DFINITY guidelines push for, especially if NF was in play), just pseudos like teihaku. How are we supposed to trust an unproven, faceless group with ecosystem funds? Anonymity might fly for early experiments, but for SNS? Nah, it screams risk – no accountability if things go south, like the bugs/lost ICP we’ve seen.

Address the real stuff: Why no yaml fix (NF=true fails under pause),Your “sustained effort” led to the same stalled product I saw end-2024 – that’s not iteration, that’s stagnation. Competition’s fine (shoutout @Thyassa’s Toko), but only if competent. Prove me wrong with transparency, not deflections.

Secondly your docs claim:
Feedback and Suggestions: If you encounter issues or have improvement suggestions, contact us via Discord or the forum. The team will respond to your needs promptly.”

But you have locked down Discord, no one can send any messages in it, no channel, what is the reason?

You “Captcha” takes me to a AD spamend website where I need to pass my credentials through?
Really does not seem like a professional team, answer the concerns i have raised.

In China and some other countries, blockchain is not permitted, so the team must remain anonymous. We envy you for having an open policy environment where you can do things freely and as you wish. I understand you—you may not believe us, but please believe in DFINITY and Dom. Dom has been following this project for two years. When we held our initial meeting, EMC and Yuku seemed to have become very low in activity. We are considering and evaluating ways to find as much proof of our identity as possible, under the condition that it poses no security threat to ourselves.

I can clone this “CLOAD” with caffeine in 2 days max, what is your value proposition here?

Dom is also following this project. The core developer of this project has worked at the DFINITY Foundation and completed KYC there. Do you think Dom would pay attention to a lousy project? I’ve tried it out, and it’s a really good project. Please don’t slander it casually out of malicious competition.

Are you implying that you can outright plagiarize this project? Sure, you might replicate the frontend appearance, but CLOUD’s real complexity lies in its sharded architecture—where multiple canisters store files in parallel. If you’re a true developer, you’d understand that shipping a product is just the beginning; sustained maintenance is the real challenge. Would you genuinely risk storing critical files in an AI-generated DApp? I could whip up a Poked Bot clone or mint Motoko NFTs in a day, but if that’s the norm, this ecosystem would drive away all serious developers by eroding its spirit of innovation.

First of all, we sincerely thank you for your reminder and attention. We acknowledge that we did not notice this proposal earlier, which also reflects that we still have room to improve our community engagement.

Here are our responses to your concerns:

  1. Development and Progress
Since its inception, CLOAD has been in continuous development. You can follow our journey and updates on our X (formerly Twitter) account. We will never release an immature or experimental product to the community.

  2. Bug Resolution Speed
On Discord, most user-reported bugs are resolved within three days, with rare delays due to workflow priorities. All 2024 roadmap goals (except SNS) have been completed, and the 2025 goals are progressing as planned. We see SNS as a new beginning, not the final milestone.

  3. Security and Vulnerability Handling

Regarding the ICC test issues you mentioned, we acted immediately once we became aware of them and can provide user communication records as evidence. To reduce potential risks, we have introduced a Project Source Verification Service to ensure all projects currently displayed on our platform are verified.

  4. Financial Clarification
The ICC test project has never charged any fees; all Cycles costs have been borne by our team. To meet user trading demands, we launched a marketplace within just two days—this rapid iteration may have resulted in a few unforeseen bugs.

  5. Community Feedback Integration

The goals we have promised are being implemented step by step. For example, after users suggested forming an early investors group, we launched a platform-based ID registration service, allowing users to claim rewards and register information directly. We have also sent multiple Discord invitations.

  6. Roadmap vs. Reality
The CLOAD Beta version was indeed released in 2023, but it should not be confused with the ICC test. CLOAD has never experienced a loss-of-funds incident. Development priorities sometimes shift, which may temporarily delay certain features. Since 2024, we have also delivered many features beyond the roadmap, such as Crypto Disk, Message system, redeem code rewards, NFT on-chain deployment and transfer, multilingual support, and visualized Canister node uploads/downloads.

  7. Project Achievements
If you have doubts about our progress, you can compare our current features with the documentation at https://docs.cload.one/. It would be unfair to dismiss the years of work from our entire team based on a single statement of “no progress.”

In aspects you haven’t mentioned, CLOAD is a feature-rich decentralized platform for applications and virtual assets, seamlessly integrating content distribution, social interaction, and asset management to deliver a truly comprehensive Web3 experience for both users and developers.

In the areas you have not mentioned or perhaps have not noticed, CLOAD has made substantial efforts, including continuous communication with the community. Many user issues and concerns have been resolved via direct messages, even if these efforts were not visible within public channels. We sincerely invite everyone following CLOAD to personally explore and experience the platform’s full range of features and services.
For us, the SNS is not the ultimate goal or the end, but a starting point toward building a larger ecosystem. CLOAD is not designed to deliver quick, short-term profits, which may disappoint those seeking immediate returns. What we can—and are consistently committed to—doing is steadily building the project, expanding its functionality and ecosystem value, so that both investors and users can benefit from the project’s long-term success.
