TabbyPOS is a cutting-edge point-of-sale (POS) system designed to seamlessly integrate cryptocurrency payments into everyday transactions. Its primary goal is to help merchants not only accept cryptocurrencies like ckBTC (Chain-Key Bitcoin) as a payment method but also utilize ckBTC as membership reward points. This simplifies the process for both payments and rewards between businesses and their customers. By leveraging blockchain technology, TabbyPOS offers a secure, low-cost, and fast solution for handling cryptocurrency payments, allowing businesses to adopt modern financial tools without the complexities typically associated with cryptocurrencies.
How is it built
Our project is built using the tools provided by Internet Computer (ICP), with dfx and BASH serving as our primary development tools. The dfx toolset allows us to deploy, test, and manage canisters efficiently on the ICP platform, ensuring smooth integration with decentralized systems. For the front-end, we have chosen to use visual basic, which provides a reliable and well-supported environment for developing our user interface.
One of the key design decisions was to utilize ICP’s canister architecture, which allows us to scale our services easily while maintaining decentralization. This approach also ensures seamless interaction with ckBTC, enabling us to leverage its low transaction costs and high security. The decision to use dfx and BASH allows us to automate various processes, improving development efficiency.

Yes, the Internet Computer’s unique capabilities have significantly contributed to the development and enhancement of our project. The integration of Chain-Key Bitcoin (ckBTC) has allowed us to implement seamless, low-cost, and fast transactions, which are crucial for using ckBTC as membership reward points. The Internet Computer’s decentralized architecture ensures security and scalability, allowing us to offer a smooth and efficient user experience without relying on third-party bridges. Additionally, its ability to support smart contracts directly interacting with Bitcoin has been a game changer, enabling us to build a feature-rich platform with minimal latency and transaction costs. These features have not only made the development process faster and more efficient but also allowed us to offer a more robust and secure service to our users.
Go-To-Market strategy
Our Go-To-Market strategy will focus on utilizing ckBTC as the entry point for membership rewards. By integrating ckBTC into our platform as a key feature, we aim to provide a seamless and rewarding experience for users, encouraging adoption. This unique approach will differentiate us in the market, while also tapping into the growing interest in ckBTC and blockchain technology. We will further amplify our efforts through partnerships and community engagement to ensure a successful market entry.
Monetization
Yes, we are planning to commercialize our project, and our primary method of generating profit will be through transaction fees. We believe this model aligns well with our overall strategy, allowing us to sustain the platform while offering value to our users. We are also exploring the potential of launching SNS and integrating decentralized governance to further enhance community involvement and long-term growth.
Status of the project
I have completed the basic functionality, but to launch it on the market, the overall stability and security need significant improvements.

Future Plans
The next step in our development is to introduce a buy-now-pay-later (BNPL) feature using ckBTC as collateral. This feature will allow users to make purchases without paying the full amount upfront, instead using their ckBTC holdings as collateral to secure the transaction. By leveraging ckBTC, users can enjoy the benefits of fast, low-cost, and decentralized transactions, making the BNPL experience seamless and efficient.
This new feature will be particularly useful for users who want to maintain liquidity while still making purchases. It also opens up opportunities for merchants by attracting customers who may otherwise hesitate to make larger purchases. The decentralized nature of ckBTC on the Internet Computer ensures that transactions are secure and transparent, while also minimizing the need for intermediaries, reducing costs and delays for all parties involved.
In addition to enhancing the user experience, this BNPL feature will create a new use case for ckBTC, driving further adoption within the ecosystem. As we move forward, we plan to integrate this functionality with various partners and merchants, offering a flexible and attractive payment option for customers, and solidifying our position as a leader in the decentralized finance space.
