Ok so briefly this is the thought process behind Swampies.
Swampies will be one of the first collections used to test the new NFT marketplace that we are working on.
- Swampies will be collectable NFTs that you can import into Dragginz to get a pet that follows you around.
- Swampies will not be used in combat, they just follow you around and be status symbols.
- Multiple NFTs can unlock the same in game swampie.
The idea is that we give some utility to the Swamp token, whilst creating something that benefits the community as a whole.
What do we want to test?
Custom Rules
With the marketplace we are building we have the option for the creator of an NFT collection to set the rules to claim, mint, sell or transfer an NFT.
This can be anything like:
- Holding a certain token
- Holding a minimum number of a token
- Staking a certain token for a minimum amount of time
- Burning a minimum quantity of a certain token
- Proof of humanity using Decide AI
if there is anything else you would like to see implemented.. please let us know…
Example for Swampies:
You have to burn a Swamp token in order to claim a Swampie NFT.
Multiple Copies of the same NFT
The creator can set how many of each NFT can be created. Is each NFT unique or can there be multiple copies of the same NFT.
This could be useful for things like mana potions or spell scrolls for example, as you wouldn’t want to have a unique NFT for every identical common item.
Again, this is completely flexible and up to the creator or admin to set up.
Dividing and Combining NFTs
The creator can also decide if they want to allow their NFT to be broken down into any number of parts. These parts each become their own NFT which can be transferred exactly as if they were part of the original collection.
Once someone collects the right combination of parts, the 4 NFTs can be merged to become a whole one again.
This is how it could work for Swampies:
A Swampie NFT can be divided into a maximum of 4 parts. Part A, B, C and D.
If you collect part A, B, C and D of any rarity swampie NFT, you can merge them to make a whole Swampie NFT.
Merged parts will create a Swampie NFT that matches the lowest rarity part that you used. If there are more than one possible NFTs that could be formed, it can be chosen at random.
Rarity and Voting?
Still a thought experiment, but if you hold a certain rarity of NFT, that can give you a vote weighting. If you own multiple, then your voting power is the total of all the NFTs you hold.
What this vote can decide is really up to the creator to set, but it could be the existing holders get to decide if a new set is able to be added to the collection, if an NFT or a set of NFTs can be archived (no longer mintable).
As we said before we didn’t want to destroy, but create. There has been enough lamenting, it is time to move forward.
Other ideas we plan to implement include:
- Custom rarity levels - customise the number of rarities, the names, the vote weight etc.
- Child sets - can they be made, is there a maximum number that can be created?
- States - collection wide cycles that can affect what NFTs can be minted at certain times of the day/year etc
- Freeze Button - Basically emergency STOP! if a bug or exploit is discovered. Freezes everything until the issue can be rectified
If anyone has any feedback that can help build the marketplace, I would love to hear it. Any ideas for things you would like to be able to a NFT in order to make it more useful.
Rest assured, once we (us, the community) have helped build the IC up to where it should be, we can all have amazing parties…
p.s - no this is not the final art, just something that chatgpt knocked up quickly… It does help break up the wall of text quite nicely though.
