I’ve been trying to get users to try pokedbotsracing.com but no one will transfer their nfts to Internet Identity created wallet because they cant trust the canister will always work or exist, and so I added Plug but no one wants to use Plug because its not secure and has had issues before, so I tried adding Stoic but couldn’t get it to work (maybe not compatible with agent v3?).
I’m sorry, doesn’t the NNS use internet identity created wallet as well?
Doesn’t Oisy also use the same thing?
Or do I not get it?
Though yes I understand your problem statement, it’s tough to get people to trust a platform that could be gone tomorrow for all they know. Also a problem I’m looking to tackle.
I think everyone is anxiously awaiting @resadona88 and @Thyassa release of Toko, a planned truly decentralized NFT market. That should allow everyone to trade and integrate with their platform if everything goes well,
Yeah, Internet Identity is great and is used by NNS and Oisy, but like you say its tough to get people to trust the app enough to put valuables in it.
Not sure how Toko fixes it, the marketplace baked into each canister (ext standard) sounds pretty decentralized (depending on the canister controllers I guess), but it will be nice to have a modern and working NFT market.
This was the main issue I had with the pokedbots game i made, wallet support was very sketchy. I know you can have NFT’s in the NNS but not sure if any wallets currently let you view them and transfer them back out. Isnt Oisy working on implementing NFT’s?
I wonder for NFT standards designers, it would make sense for the NFT owner to be able to designate multiple “controllers” of that NFT, the same way canisters work. that way they wouldnt be dependent on the existence of that one principal in your app.
obviously this complicates the process of transfers / trades. But it would solve the first problem… IE i could have your app principal be a controller but I can also add a controller principal from an app I already trust, like oisy, the nns, or my dfx generated principal whatever.
that functionality of multiple controllers for canisters, is what saved my access to all my canister, when my computer blew up. because I (fortunately) made my NNS pid a controller of all of them.
I agree. While I really like Oisy and NFID, that was one of the reasons I started making something Metamask-like dedicated to games: Grind Wallet for use in my Pixelpunk game. But at this point it’s an early alpha—I wouldn’t recommend it for production yet.
