Seeking Rust Developer for Long-Term Collaboration on Award-Winning DeFi Project (ICP)

Hello ICP Community,

We are the team behind STAKEDOG, a decentralized finance (DeFi) project that recently won first place at an International ICP Hackathon. Our mission is to push the boundaries of DeFi on the Internet Computer Protocol (ICP)—making it smarter, more capital-efficient, and more socially impactful.

We’re now looking for a driven and independent Rust developer to join us as a long-term technical partner in building something meaningful and cool.

:brain: About the Project

STAKEDOG aims to:

  • Solve hard problems around liquidity, capital efficiency, inflation, and governance.
  • Introduce a creative model for fundraising and DAO participation.
  • Bring positive real-world impact through do-good initiatives.
  • Contribute to strengthening the overall ICP ecosystem.

We’ve already built a solid proof of concept using AI tools, ICP canisters, and Web3 design principles. Our next step is to take the product to market—with your help.

:eyes: Who We’re Looking For

A Rust developer who is:

  • Proficient in Rust and experienced with ICP canisters.
  • Familiar with the Service Nervous System (SNS) and Network Nervous System (NNS).
  • Autonomous, reliable, and collaborative.
  • Interested in crypto, DeFi, and purpose-driven tech.

You don’t need to be a full expert on ICP—but we value curiosity, initiative, and the ability to learn fast.

:building_construction: Why Join Us?

Collaborative Vision: We’re building an open-source, DAO-governed project with room for co-creation.

Skin in the Game: You’ll have the opportunity to be part of the founding team, with ownership and voice in the roadmap.

Real Impact: Our DeFi model is designed to support meaningful causes while driving sustainable crypto innovation.

:warning: A Note on Compensation
We are currently in the pre-grant phase, and the role starts as a collaboration based on shared ownership and mutual trust. We plan to eventually onboard our developer as a core contributor with compensation + token allocation, whenever we have the means necessary.

We love DeFi

Our focus is to help develop DeFi on ICP by building with functionality, transparency, and sustainable value in mind, creating the dApps we ourselves would like to use.

The cleansing taking place right now is probably a positive thing that will help strengthen the ecosystem over time by removing bad actors, but we also recognize how challenging and painful such transitions can be for builders like ourselves who are working hard against the wind and the narratives.

The lower-hanging fruit for us would have been to build on Solana, where there is much better liquidity and a more developer-friendly environment.

We ask the community to support our efforts as we continue to build something we believe is meaningful for the Internet Computer and its future. We remain committed to upholding high standards and supporting a stronger, healthier ecosystem for everyone involved.

We are not asking anyone for permission, we are asking for support :sparkling_heart:

Hey STAKEDOG Team :paw_prints:,

Your vision for STAKEDOG really resonates with me — blending DeFi innovation with social impact on the Internet Computer is both refreshing and exciting.

I’m a Rust developer with solid hands-on experience building full-scale DeFi protocols on ICP. I’ve independently developed a launchpad platform from scratch, contributed to a DEX, and worked on borrow/lending mechanics, DAO participation flows, and even some gamified dApps — all within the ICP ecosystem, using Rust and canisters extensively.

I’m confident I could bring strong technical and product thinking to your team, especially when it comes to smart contract design, canister optimization, and system architecture on ICP. I’d love to explore how we could collaborate, and would be happy to share my resume and more details once we connect!
