Hello Satslink community,

We’d like to share an update on the development progress of Satslink, focusing on two key aspects: payment integration and the status of Satslink token issuance.

As many of you know, we had previously integrated the code for issuing the Satslink token directly into our core codebase. However, after careful consideration, we made the strategic decision to pause the token issuance at this time.

Our reasoning behind this is simple: user accumulation. We believe it is crucial to first build a solid foundation of early adopters and active users for Satslink before proceeding with token distribution. Focusing on user growth will ensure a more robust and engaged community for the long-term success of the Satslink ecosystem.

On a more positive note, we are excited to announce that payment functionality has now been successfully integrated! Satslink VPN is now ready to accept payments using ICP ecosystem tokens.

This marks a significant step forward, allowing users to directly utilize the ICP ecosystem to access and pay for Satslink VPN services. Looking ahead, our commitment is to expand payment options further. We plan to progressively incorporate compatibility with ICRC standard tokens, making Satslink even more accessible and user-friendly within the broader Internet Computer ecosystem.

Satslink aims to:

  • Enhance Web3 User Privacy: Replace centralized VPNs and address the data leakage and auditing risks inherent in traditional VPNs.
  • Ensure Data Security: Prevent user data from being hijacked, monitored, and analyzed by centralized entities.
  • Build a Secure Network Environment: Utilize SAMA Network’s consensus and business sharding technology to enhance network security and privacy.
  • Simplify Web3 Payments: Based on MSQ, enable direct purchase of ICP and ICRC-1 and payment of VPN service fees.
