Given the current state of the Internet Computer (IC) ecosystem, it is more important than ever to direct our focus and resources toward fostering valuable SNS projects that demonstrate real potential and innovation.
Past projects that failed to deliver meaningful impact — often referred to as “swamp projects” — should be left behind as lessons learned, not as burdens.
Our attention must now be on the future: supporting initiatives that truly add value, encouraging sustainable growth, and working together to build a stronger, more resilient ecosystem.
Thanks to the generous support from @borovan, the current state of the ecosystem has improved significantly. We also hope that other developing projects can seize this opportunity to showcase their strengths and progress. At the same time, we encourage more users to actively participate and contribute to the growth of the ecosystem, rather than engaging in unnecessary conflicts.
No pain, no gain.
The recent surge in momentum led by @borovan has injected new energy into the IC ecosystem, reigniting the passion of many users and even bringing back a significant number of those who had previously left. This is a very positive sign, indicating that the IC community’s cohesion and potential are still strong.
The real challenge ahead is how to maintain this momentum and turn the short-term excitement into long-term trust and growth.
We need more high-quality projects to launch, more real-world use cases, and a more open, healthy, and supportive community atmosphere.
Only by doing so can we truly retain users and rebuild the community’s confidence in the future of IC, propelling the entire ecosystem to the next level.
Now is our opportunity—an opportunity for IC to rise.
What about if we just merged a whole load of SNSes that were fraudulent, abandoned or scams and just turned them into this NFT Maker project we’re working on.
Could just put all the treasuries into a huge SNS sale and raise over a million ICP.
I can see the reddit posts now.
“Why do all of my tokens say swamp?”
I was actually being serious… but it may just make a lot of people pissed off and be a lot of code.
How do you define “scam” for SNS projects? Just for reference in the future. Thanks
scam = adam’s vp is less than 30%
Aren’t you ashamed of draining the treasury immediately after your SNS succeeded?
I guess that’s a no then
If we can’t recover the ICP taken by the SNS projects that have already abandoned the ecosystem, perhaps it’s time for us to focus on creating even better projects — without allowing them to benefit again through the purchase of their tokens.. Let’s build new opportunities rather than fueling the ones that have already lost our trust.
You have helped recover the losses of many people who participated in the SNS projects. Kudos to you!
A positive outcome of the criticism levied against many of the SNS projects seems to be an increase in communication on some fronts. However reporting remains unstructured and often lacks detail regarding risk, project progress, finances, schedule, and issues. Implementing a standardized reporting canister could greatly improve the quality of information available to investors, ensuring transparency and consistency across all projects. This would help in maintaining investor confidence and facilitating better project management. The level of capability maturity seems very adhoc and reactive - more cat and mouse or whack a mole. Maybe a common style of dashboard and key performance indicators would be useful rather than long narratives.
This is a great idea
I had a pretty good fealing this wouldnt be answered lol
