I saw the new video that explains the linking of email addresses to the Internet Identity and tried to connect using my Yahoo address, but without success.
I understand that Internet Identity’s email recovery feature uses a domain allowlist (called the DoH allowlist) for major consumer email providers. Only domains explicitly added to this allowlist by DFINITY are supported.
Also that to add a new email address like Yahoo requires a canister configuration update [prepare.rs].
How might I go about asking Dfinity to provide a timetable for this action?
I have unfortunately come up against problems, probably of my own making and ended up with more identities, none of which allow me to access the nns that holds my tokens.
Why does this allowed domains list even exist? It prevents the use of local email providers or domains that are directly controlled by the user for identity recovery purposes. I can’t even use my own company email for this, which is really disappointing.
