NNS Dapp Critical Bug:

NNS Dapp Critical Bug: Auto-voting (Following) Not Functioning Across All 17 Topics Despite Maximum Followees Set
Section: Bug Report / Network Nervous System (NNS)
Hello,
I am writing to report a critical system bug in the NNS Dapp that is preventing my neurons from participating in automatic voting, which impacts the efficiency of reward accrual.
:round_pushpin: Core Problem
My neurons, which are staked and configured with the maximum allowable limit of 15 Followees on all available voting topics, are failing to execute auto-voting (Following). Consequently, I am forced to vote manually on proposals.
:memo: Detailed Description

  • Configuration:
    • The NNS currently has 17 primary voting topics (e.g., Governance, IC OS Version Deployment, Exchange Rate, Node Admin, etc.).
    • On all 17 of these topics, I have set the maximum limit of 15 Followees per topic. This means my configuration is fully optimized to follow the maximum number of entities possible across all areas.
    • My neurons are fully staked (not in the Dissolve process).
  • Observed Bug/Incorrect Behavior:
    • Despite this robust configuration, when a new proposal is submitted, the auto-voting mechanism does not engage.
    • I frequently encounter proposals that are already marked as “Decided” or “Executed” (often with a high percentage of ‘Yes’ votes), yet the NNS Dapp still displays the option for me to vote manually (Adopt/Reject).
    • This clearly indicates that my neuron’s voting power did not follow any of its 15 configured Followees, and the manual vote is only being registered for the purpose of collecting Voting Rewards.
  • Expected Behavior:
    • As soon as the first Followee among the 15 I selected casts a vote, my neurons should automatically follow that vote, ensuring timely participation in all 17 topics.
Please investigate this systemic bug. Thank you for your support.

This is not how it works. From here:

In particular, if more than 50% of the followees vote “yes”, then a “yes” vote is cast for the follower and if at least 50% of the followees vote “no”, then a “no” vote is cast for the follower.

As vivienne said thats not how it works. If you want to make sure your neuron always votes youre actually better off following one entity that always votes rather than many.

You can do research on how often known neurons vote at vpgeek.app/knownkneurons

Why not just use the ALPHA-Vote solution friend? :slightly_smiling_face:
