I think we as the Internet Computer DAO should strongly consider passing a proposal to eliminate the accruing of AGE% Bonus for Locked Neurons that aren’t eligible to vote because they aren’t locked for a long enough period of time. Let’s make the minimum to start accruing the age bonus to the same as the minimum dissolve delay to have voting power.
You can lock your ICP in a neuron with a dissolve delay of 1, 5, 10days and grow the AGE% Bonus of that Neuron even though it has zero voting power. I suppose that growing the neurons age bonus could lead the neuron owner to want to lock-it for a longer delay. But as a DAO member I personally don’t like having a Free Parking space on my network like it’s a Monopoly game.
Soon we’ll see people selling aged neurons with small dissolve delays and maxed-out age Bonuses selling on the secondary markets.
Neuron Age Bonus for locked Neurons shouldn’t accrue unless that Neuron has a dissolve delay long enough to have voting power. Dissolving and neurons not staked for long enough should not have the good fortune to accrue Age Bonus.
