I’m trying to get DSCVR’s recent postings data via a js or canister call, but I can’t find the documentation or canister for it, so I don’t know what to do.
They are likely concentrated in Solana, even though DFINITY has been actively promoting its platform.
DSCVR largely left the IC, and Distrikt gave up (still working but a shadow of what it could have been). The founder of DSCVR wrote a couple of interesting posts a few months back about why Solana is preferable to the IC. Dmail went hybrid long ago, and Yral has realised that there is no prospect to build a successful social network exclusively on the IC and is going hybrid as well. Everything-on-chain is dead for socialfi, sadly. Too many hoops to jump through and too many compromises for too little advantage over standard platforms.

The problem I see is that everything will rely on AI from now on. Despite efforts to run AI on-chain on the IC (and the HUGE marketing push), the reality is that it’s too expensive. This creates a very strong force working against anything on-chain. A hybrid approach seems to be the way forward, and we can only hope to identify some use cases for the IC.
