ICP Range Tokens are digital assets dedicated to specific ICP price ranges. They are not pegged to the price, but rather represent a range in which they are most active.
Example: If ICP is trading at $3.50, the token “ICP3” (dedicated to the $3.00-$3.99 range) would be considered active (recommend to trade). When ICP moves to $4.10, “ICP4” becomes active instead.
Each token will launch at 100 ICP mcap and have 1 mil tokens. Token fee is 0.01 and controller
aaaaa-aa, no minting extra tokens. I went overboard and minted 25 tokens (ICP1-ICP25), tokens are ICRC-2, made with ICPEx. Currently only ICP3 is on ICPSwap, if ICP moves below 3 than ICP2 will be added and if reaches 4 than ICP4.
100 ICP gained will have its own purpose, will not be added to liquidity. With time, people will figure out for what it is.
Now we have tools to build, adoption starts from Us, building, no matter how strange projects end up.
AI is not perfect and trying to change whatever It wrote to website is really hard with prompts. I think people will understand what this project does.
Added automatic Active token feature, app itself now display active (Live) token based on ICP price. When price goes 3, automatically changes to ICP3 token.
Trying to grasp what’s the objective but admit I may be too thick to understand it. So you discretized a price curve (how? linear or non linear? what determines the bounds? what justifies the choice?)
Recommended to trade? Against what? Does it convert to vanilla $ICP? If not, who/what provides liquidity for the pair(s) to exist?
Goal is to offer new kind of tokens for people to trade. Im tired myself buying tokens that inflate, this is why ICP(1-?) will have limited supply 1mil tokens. People can use different strategy, like sell tokens that might go out of range and buy into potential new range.
Liquidity itself comes later, we start really small, grow, 100ICP gained will play part of it.
Fine, but still don’t grasp the mechanics. Is the token linked to $ICP as underlying? What does the token represent? Hence, what drives trade? Fun and vibes?
Trades are driven by expectation to buy into upcoming range, as no one really know how long 1 range will last. Fun and vibes are needed too
On website its clearly said: ICP Range Tokens are digital assets dedicated to specific ICP price ranges. They are not pegged to the price, but rather represent a range in which they are active. ICP Range Tokens do not represent ICP ownership or profit promises.
How do these tokens maintain a value against Icp? Do you have a sort of system of bots that maintain their positions relative to the price of Icp? Or are they simply tokens with names.
Just tokens with names that are more active when ICP token is traded at range. No DAO, fixed supply, no minting new tokens as controller is aaaaa-aa.
Every person on ICP should have small project and its own token. On X i keep posting about https://godsaredead.com/ Nice game, built on ICP, check it out.
Token explorer is in Token Factory. There can create tokens, mint, change controllers, top up canisters. NB still experimental, can have bugs. https://dvfoz-oaaaa-aaaab-qhh6a-cai.icp.net/
ICP could go to 10 usd, would be nice, than on the way up small gift to ICP2 and ICP3 holders.
Can try to make app shop, i add apps (linkedin stile websites, canister management tool (auto top up), blog?), people pay in ICP, or even better if i make own non investable token that has somewhat stable value. After user picks app, pays, frontend and backend will be deployed automatically, buyer get controller, changes it to NNS pid, logs in to app itself and get admin rights. I think apps like 30 usd should be pretty good deal for a app that will be permanently owned by buyer, no middleman or subscriptions.
Liquidity Token LIQD is now live on ICPSwap. It is not a stable coin and not investment asset, it is used to pay for services like launching a token in Token Factory. It has more stable value than ICP token itself. When ICP tokens goes up in value, launching a token becomes too expensive, with LIQD token, cost stays the same.
