I wanted to open a discussion around something I think is missing from the Internet Computer ecosystem: a curated generative art marketplace—similar to what we’ve seen thrive on other chains.
Think Art Blocks on Ethereum, Code Canvas on Solana, or Vivid Gallery on Bitcoin. These platforms have shown that there’s strong demand for high-quality, curated algorithmic art drops. They blend code, creativity, and culture in a way that elevates both the artists and the chain they’re on.
ICP has the tech to support this—low fees, powerful canisters, and true decentralization. But we don’t yet have a flagship platform that curates and highlights the best of on-chain generative art.
I’m imagining a space where:
- Artists submit generative works written in Motoko, Rust, or any supported language
- A small group of curators selects standout collections
- There’s a focus on long-term value, not just hype-driven drops
This would showcase the creative power of ICP and give artists a meaningful alternative to Ethereum and Solana. It could also serve as a powerful entry point for culture into the ecosystem.
