RFP: ICP Canister Developer for Spatial Worlds & Data Infrastructure

Project: “GoogleEarth”-type Project / World Computer Platform

Engagement: Contract, 40 hrs/week

Overview

We are building a World Computer–native spatial platform that combines satellite / geospatial data, persistent virtual environments, and verifiable infrastructure on the Internet Computer.

We’re looking for an experienced ICP canister developer (Motoko or Rust) to help design and implement a production-grade backend that supports persistent worlds, data integrity, and long-term scalability. This is infrastructure work — not a demo, not a hackathon project.

What Will Run on ICP

All core backend logic runs natively inside ICP canisters, not on AWS/GCP.

This includes:

  • Persistent world state & spatial data models

  • Identity-aware access control (non-custodial)

  • Verifiable data ingestion & provenance

  • Tamper-proof state updates and history

  • Inter-canister orchestration for modular systems

  • Public & private query/update APIs

  • Cycle-aware compute and storage logic

Initial Scope

  • Canister architecture & domain separation (identity, world state, data)

  • Persistent state design (stable memory, upgrades)

  • Data integrity & verifiability patterns

  • Inter-canister communication strategies

  • Query vs update optimization

  • Cycle usage estimation, monitoring, and optimization

  • Support for future scaling (worlds, users, institutions)

Initial engagement is 40 hrs/week, with the option to scale as the platform matures.

Required Experience

Strong ICP fundamentals are required.

Solid understanding of:

  • Canister lifecycle & upgrade safety

  • Stable memory patterns

  • Query vs update semantics

  • Async inter-canister workflows

  • Cycles economics & optimization

  • On-chain data integrity guarantees

You should have real ICP production experience:

  • Not tutorials

  • Not forks

  • Not toy apps

Motoko or Rust accepted.

Experience with data-heavy systems, spatial data, or infrastructure platforms is a strong plus.

Not a Fit If

  • You’re primarily a frontend or Unity developer

  • You only have hackathon or sample-app experience

  • You’re looking for token-only, speculative, or short-term work

This is paid, long-horizon infrastructure work.

Compensation

  • Paid contract

  • Part-time to start (40 hrs/week)

ICP Hub Egypt team is currently working with a similar project on digital twins paired with Ai analytics, they have a huge library they are categorizing. Data is drone captured with Lidar and mm accuracy for inspection. Would love to know if you are working on something similar or related to gaming more?
