I have a Ledger controlled neuron with locked funds. I have upgraded my old nns app account. At one point, I registered a new id.ai account and added the neuron to the new account. I was still able to disburse maturity or dissolve the neuron via Ledger in the older nns app. I had complete control at all times.
I sign into the new nns dashboard, SAME principal id, I’m met with “As a hotkey, you can view this setting but only the neuron controller can make changes.” Why can I not make changes to the neuron in the new dashboard. Will I be able to get my funds back from the neuron when it eventually dissolves? What am I missing here?
Again, I can sign back into the old nns dashboard and disburse maturity, no problems. I’ve removed/readded my id.ai account multiple times.
Yea, he wanted me to connect my ledger to his website.
I found a temporary solution. Dfinity has a Github with the hardware-wallet-cli command line utility. I’ve started messing around with it so I still have control of the neuron.
I think technically speaking (coming from a place of not a blockchain dev), the ledger IS the original principal controller of the neuron. When I signed up on the dashboard, it’s a new principal that is added as a hotkey to the neuron. So the if I use the command line utility, I don’t need the dashboard, but it would be nice.
I would assume that there will be a proposal in the future to integrate ledger/cold wallets back into the nns dashboard?
