Cafreso DAO SNS Incoming! Bringing Decentralized Agriculture to ICP

Proposal: Cafreso DAO SNS Swap – A Decentralized Coffee Revolution

Introduction

Hello ICP community!

We are excited to introduce Cafreso DAO, a decentralized coffee company leveraging Internet Computer (ICP) and blockchain technology to revolutionize the coffee industry in El Salvador. Our vision is to connect small-scale farmers directly with consumers, ensuring sustainability, fair compensation, and community governance through a Decentralized Autonomous Organization (DAO). Bringing a new decentralized agriculture platform to ICP.

We are launching an SNS (Service Nervous System) swap to decentralize control, allowing the community to participate in governance while funding our mission to build a coffee roastery, café, and vertical farming operation.

Why Cafreso DAO?

:hot_beverage: Premium Coffee + Blockchain – Bringing ethically sourced, specialty coffee to Web3.

:building_construction: Decentralized Ownership – Community-driven decisions on growth, farming, and rewards.

:seedling: Empowering Farmers – By integrating blockchain, we provide direct financial benefits to coffee growers.

:money_bag: Staking & Rewards – Earn governance tokens that allow participation in DAO revenue distribution.

Our Team

Anthony Martinez - Worked at AWS running data center operations for 4 years, currently working at Oracle data centers and has studied computer engineering. Leading the team for building Cafresos’ first ICP node and vertical farm designs.**

Katja Engetschwiler - Background in overseeing treasury and risk management at Amazon. Expertise in fiscal planning, financial markets and regulations. Will be managing our treasury and aligning our DAO to grow while minimizing risk exposure.**

Krishna Sharma - Software developer manager at Amazon prime video and studios. Has helped build multiple Y-Combinator startups and over a decade of experience in software development. Oveseeing DAPP development**

Dappjak - Recognizing the necessity of decentralized technologies in 2021, he began exploring Web3 ecosystems such as IPFS, Filecoin, Storj, and Sia. His journey led him to the Internet Computer Protocol (ICP), which immediately captured his interest. After immersing himself in this technology, he has successfully designed and launched multiple decentralized applications built with his preferred stack: Sveltekit for frontend development, Motoko for backend and smart contract programming, and CanDB as a decentralized database—creating robust, fully on-chain solutions.

Derick Pena - Experience with business administration and real estate operations. Overseeing the DAO for proper management of licensing, regulations and insurance.**

SNS Swap Tokenomics

Total Supply: 100,000,000 CF Tokens

  • 51% DAO Treasury – Reserved for ecosystem growth, sustainability, and governance. 5% of our Treasury will be given to airdrop participants.
  • 27% SNS Swap Distribution – Distributed to the community through the initial SNS swap.
  • 22% Dev Team Allocation – Dissolving over two years to ensure long-term commitment.

The SNS swap will enable fair token distribution, decentralizing ownership while raising funds to kickstart the infrastructure for our café, vertical farm, and AI-powered vertical-farm system.

Funding Goals & Use of Funds

:light_bulb: Minimum Raise: 175,000 ICP

:bullseye: Max Target Raise: 500,000 ICP

:small_blue_diamond: Land & Infrastructure – Land and rights to build will be provided to the DAO to operate.
:small_blue_diamond: Coffee Roasting Facility – Set up a roastery for global coffee distribution.

:small_blue_diamond: POS & DApp Development – Implement blockchain-based payments, staking, and governance.

Community & Governance

By launching our SNS DAO, CF token holders will have voting rights on key decisions, including:

:white_check_mark: New coffee product lines & rewards programs

:white_check_mark: Future partnerships & sustainability initiatives

:white_check_mark: Café and roastery expansions

We envision Cafreso DAO as the first Web3-powered decentralized coffee hub, seamlessly integrating blockchain, AI, and sustainable farming.

We seek community feedback before submitting the SNS proposal on the NNS (Network Nervous System). We invite all ICP builders, investors, and coffee lovers to join the conversation and help shape the future of decentralized agriculture on ICP!

why does this need icp and why does a coffee shop need to be decentralized LMAO

have you read the latest arguments about random-tier SNS attempts popping up overnight?

How will investors benefit from investing in your…thing?

There’s THOUSANDS of big name/small name/farm to door/you name it coffee brands established all over the world that make this literally useless. It’s another intricate money grab vaporware idea.

Let me throw you another bone: uhh… how about…decentralized bike rides…or or or…decentralized pizza slice shop that sends pizza slices to your door via drone dude…awesome…flip the whiteboard and get on this

Have a great day,

a guy tired of useless SNS proposals

Thanks for taking time and checking our post!

We have heard of this situation lately and are eager to think of a solution with Dfinity to fix that mess. On paper, DAOs are a great model, but in the real world humans are greedy. We have been in the works with coffee farmers and producers, as well using land we own to operate and build. We think it’s time to bring this product to ICP with a strong team and experience.

We believe our value comes from the real world partnerships, experience and land rights to operate. To remain decentralized, we can’t offer our dev team full control or maybe we can look to decentralize over time so we avoid those attacks if Dfinity allows it.

Thanks for taking your time to view our proposal. You definitely have some ideas there cooking.

Our team finds value in a decentralized agriculture system a step forward for defi. Imagine ordering your groceries organic and pesticide free through a fast Openchat interaction. With a system showing you exactly the farm it was harvested from. In this day and age, governments are testing lab-grown meat and many don’t mind companies using harmful ingredients.

Blockchain was designed for decentralization and transparency. Our coffee shop and coffee products will only be the first of many products we hope to offer the ICP ecosystem at Cafreso.

Hey, browsed through your whitepaper and website.

A few questions:

  1. I’m not clear on what the model is, it says you’re growing coffee, and also hosting events to teach about blockchain, and also you plan to become a node provider in El Salvador? There’s not really a clear direction.

  2. How do holders of your tokens benefit from any of your various business models? In a meaningful way that is enforced through code. Yes it’s cool that your coffee shop website is hosted on ICP but how does value generated through your sales meaningfully flow back to holders of your tokens (and how is this enforced through the code?)

Who dis
are you able to share your twitter presence etc
I ma trying to figure out out if you guys have an MVP or are asking without an MVP
thanks

Hey @WebTreeSoftwareSolut, Thanks for taking the time to read our proposal.

  1. We have partnerships with coffee growers, we won’t be growing personally. El Salvador offers grants for teaching blockchain and we will host workshops at our cafe as well as initiate an ICP hub in the country. Our focus is on delivering great tasting coffee. There are no current node providers in El Salvador and we’d love to achieve that by our Q3 of our second year of operations.

  2. Our point-of-sale application will be open sourced and allow anyone to design an online shop to accept payments, create products and save user data. It is scalable and we believe it offers better crypto transactions than what businesses currently use to accept payments in El Salvador. Our neuron holders will have access to realtime transactions and cafe data through our dashboard. Each cup of coffee sold will set aside a percentage, where those earnings are distributed to neuron holders at the end of week for participating in governance. Neuron holders will also receive discounted prices on our products.

We are looking to form a partnership with GoldDAO, to give our neuron holders a physical location to redeem your GoldNFTs or GLDT in person at our cafes. Bringing a new experience to defi on ICPs ecosystem and creating a welcoming place to learn about the power of ICP.

Greetings @ishaaqziyan ,

We do not currently have an active X presence. We have a partnership with a local roaster in Northern Virginia, USA that already imports from El Salvador and roasts single-origin coffee. We will be fulfilling customer orders and shipping in USA and El Salvador. By leveraging partnerships we hope to mitigate risk and focus on the development of our dapp, customers and cafe in El Salvador.

I see
Thanks for the heads-up.
But, I am not sure how the DAO approach would work with your product, though
Anyways, looking forward to seeing how things are progressing.
Good luck

We would like to improve B2B(Business to business) & B2C(Business to customer) transactions in El Salvador by improving our DAPP overtime. Offering a better solution using ICPs infrastructure than what is currently available. While doing so, also tapping into the countries largest export and trade being agriculture.

DAOs are community driven and we would like to offer the ecosystem a portal to use their ICP to order organic, pesticide free food using ICRC1 standards. Taking accountability and transparently showing where your food is sourced, from farm to fork.

Decentralized Coffee Revolution?
Sounds like a scam

I am passionate about ICP and specialty coffee. In the specialty coffee industry, traceability with transparency is highly valued. I believe this could be a revolutionary bridge between the coffee industry and ICP. This is exactly the kind of project I’ve been waiting for.

I’m confused about one thing in this: if dao tokens are bought on open market, and staked no matter where the dao is incorporated doesn’t that mean the dao is functioning?
