YRAL Q1 2025 Updates

The YRAL team made forward strides in Q1 2025. We are excited to share our progress across the DOLR AI ecosystem.

Last quarter was packed with enhancements and improvements across multiple fronts. We introduced CENTs as the unified in-app currency, replacing COYNs, and launched new games, such as Pump 'n Dump. On the app development side, we successfully launched our iOS app and began work on the Android app. Backend improvements included enhancing the AI-driven video feed for a smoother user experience and implementing solutions to remove duplicate content from user video feeds. The YRAL community also saw impressive growth, with increased reach and engagement across our social media channels, as well as greater participation in offline creator community events.

What we accomplished in Q1 2025

  1. CENTs as a Unified In-App Currency: We introduced CENTs as the unified virtual currency across the DOLR AI ecosystem, replacing COYNs from the Hot or Not game. CENTs are directly convertible to DOLRs (1 DOLR = 100 CENTs), adding real-world value and simplifying the cashing-out process for users.
  2. Launched Pump Dump Game (pumpdump.wtf): We launched a meme-token based prediction game where users can forecast whether tokens will “Pump” or “Dump” and earn CENTs. This is essentially the gamification of the icpump.fun platform. Within a month, over 4,000+ users participated, casting votes on 250+ meme coins, and generating 200,000+ CENTs. This is still in the beta phase and was started as an experiment for Tap-to-Earn games.
  3. Daily Airdrops of Meme Tokens on ICPump.fun: Daily meme-token airdrops are now available on icpump.fun, featuring 24-hour replenishment windows tailored to each token’s launch time. Users can claim preferred tokens daily and HODL them. Another experiment on the lines of Pump.Fun is under development. This would be used as a precursor to Creator Tokens on YRAL in subsequent iterations.
  4. Launch of YRAL iOS App (In Beta): The YRAL iOS app (‎YRAL on the App Store) has officially launched, with its core features fully operational: a video feed, video upload, video deletion, and user reporting. Enhancements include a ‘Block User’ feature and the replacement of all placeholder content to improve the user experience. We are really proud of this achievement, and there are several new features on the way. Consider the current version as a Beta. This makes us the first Social App in the ICP ecosystem to have an iOS mobile app.
  5. Introduction of NSFW Toggle: Users of the YRAL web app can now directly toggle NSFW content into their feeds (https://yral.com/). Previously, such content was accessible only through the Hot or Not app (hotornot.wtf). This new feature eliminates the need for users to switch between apps, streamlining their experience.
  6. YRAL Android App: Onboarded a new developer in the YRAL Android team, focusing on establishing a strong foundation by implementing CI/CD pipelines for automated testing and deployment. Backend architecture has been adapted to meet Android-specific requirements, and active collaboration with the backend team ensures seamless API integration and scalability. The first version is expected to be released in the next few weeks.
  7. Push Notifications Integration: Push notifications are being integrated into YRAL to enhance user retention. Defined use cases include gameplay results, uploads, and moderation events. Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) is being implemented, with client-side handling underway for both iOS and Android. (Feature Upcoming)
  8. UX Improvements: The Wallet UI has been redesigned, and the process for claiming airdrops has been simplified across DOLR AI apps.
  9. Deployment of Progressive Web Apps (PWAs): PWAs for all DOLR AI ecosystem apps — YRAL, HoN, ICPump, and PumpnDump — have been deployed. These PWAs function as native apps on mobile devices, facilitating user reach while optimizing development costs.
  10. Unified Endpoint for Authentication: Built a unified OAuth-based authentication layer supporting Google Login for all DOLR AI apps. This is part of the toolkit available for any app developer using DOLR AI. (Documentation Incoming)
  11. Development of Independent Frontend in Svelte: Initiated frontend decoupling and chose Svelte (over React) for its speed and simplicity. We are rebuilding the Pump and Dump game as a proof of concept (POC).
  12. Deduplication of Videos in Feed: Identified duplicate content as a recurring issue due to the same content being re-uploaded by different users or resurfacing repeatedly. The current feed logic lacks a mechanism to identify and filter out such duplicates. Scoped a content fingerprinting solution and began backend support for tracking duplicate sources. Refer to Github Issue
  13. NSFW Filter: Deployed an AI-powered moderation engine for detecting and removing NSFW content across the video library. Refer to Github Issue
  14. Pump AI: Introduced AI-based search in ICPump (https://icpump.fun/icpump-ai) for token discovery and semantic queries (e.g., “tokens related to X”, or “best performing tokens today”).
  15. Central Analytics Dashboard: Built an internal central analytics dashboard using Looker Studio + Google Analytics to monitor user acquisition, retention, DApp-specific conversion funnels, and campaign-level ROI for both organic and paid efforts. This improves the targeting and return on investment (ROI) of our marketing efforts, both online and offline.
  16. Creator Podcast: Launched the YRAL Creator Podcast, featuring influencers across fashion, finance, and comedy. Four episodes of YRAL Creator Podcast Series are already live on our YouTube channel, exploring creator journeys, monetization strategies, and industry insights.
  17. Engagement with IC Community: Our founders posted updates on YRAL in March 2025 - Update 1 and Update 2. YRAL also featured on a podcast hosted by Blockchain Pill earlier in April 2025 - Blockchain Pill Podcast on YRAL.
  18. YRAL Creator Community: We hosted several creator events providing the creators from various ecosystems to network and connect, thereby deepening our creator ecosystem in India (Holi Event, Christmas Party). The community grew to 3,500+ content creators from all over.
  19. Progress on Social Media Channels:
    • Instagram: Our Instagram account reached over 2.4 million accounts organically, with the top reel achieving 2.5 million views, 3,500 comments, and 90,000 shares. We posted 83 reels and 309 stories, totaling 3.6 million views. Our Holi creator event stories alone garnered 21,000 views, amplifying our brand presence. Visit us at YRAL Instagram Page.
    • Twitter: Implemented a high-frequency content strategy, generating 250K+ impressions and 25K+ engagements. Collaborated with key ICP hubs (Canada, Lighthouse), ran AMAs, feedback polls, and meme campaigns, along with airdrops and giveaways for ckBTC, DOLR, and campaign-specific rewards. Visit us at YRAL Twitter Handle.
    • LinkedIn: Gained 13K new unique visitors, 3.65M impressions, and reached 37 K+ followers by sharing thought leadership, company updates, and tech-focused newsletters. Strong reception of the founder’s insights further strengthened brand credibility. Visit us at YRAL | LinkedIn.
    • Telegram & Community Channels: Increased engagement through consistent updates, feature announcements, and incentivized user feedback loops for the PumpDump game. Reactivated dormant users with meme drops and gamified polls, fostering greater community interaction.

Cloudflare Stream is a video-on-demand and live streaming platform provided by Cloudflare. It allows users to upload, store, encode, and deliver video content globally with low latency, leveraging Cloudflare’s extensive Content Delivery Network (CDN). Key features include adaptive bitrate streaming, analytics, customizable video players, and robust security options like signed URLs and DRM support. It simplifies video workflows by handling encoding and playback optimization, making it suitable for businesses, developers, and creators who need scalable, reliable video delivery without managing complex infrastructure.

Thank you for pointing out the obvious from the browser developer tools.

And? Your point being?

@ysyms

While you’re here, would love your take on the feed.

We’ve made quite a few improvements to it and it has changed drastically from the last time you were screaming “100 looping videos”.

Happy to get your feedback and/or any criticisms you’d be willing to share.

You’ll find it’s DEFINITELY not “100 looping videos” anymore

Go away, you put your video on Cloudflare instead of ICP

How about you go away and stop speaking nonsense?

IF you are able to do the math, riddle me this:
How many videos can we currently put on chain?

Average size of an HD video

Total storage currently on the IC

Not sure if you’re able to do the math

You need to divide the second large number with the first.

Now try to guess how many videos we have?

HINT: It’s many MANY more

I’ll let you figure out the rest

Also, please make up your mind

Are we “SWAMP” because we have too many canisters or if we have too few?

Not your “bro”, bro :slightly_smiling_face:

OK, @saikatdas0790 has admitted that all their videos are stored on Cloudflare

This is UNTRUE Adam

The above has been clarified NOT from us, but a Dfinity team member who’s been a KEY MEMBER in ICPs scaling efforts

We’ve also clarified countless times what we’re doing

Our source code is public

Our WASMs are verified publicly

Finally we pay for every computation that our canisters perform.

Last I checked, if you pay for the compute, you’re allowed to run your canister on the IC.

However, if you’d like, we’re happy to clarify anything you’d like to ask of us on an open forum.

But THE ABOVE STATEMENT IS UNTRUE

Hi :waving_hand:, friendly dev here. Are you currently storing some videos on-chain and some off-chain? How are you making it work? Is the whole IC filled with your videos? Just curious! It might be helpful to clarify.

Press f12 and you will find that the entire Cloudflare is filled with yral’s video🤣

We don’t store videos on chain on the IC.

Wont work from a few different angles:

  • Not cost effective
  • Poor latency for fetching from source
  • No CDN support
  • Total storage available on the IC won’t scale to be able to store a massive video library

We use Cloudflare as our primary for serving video

We also have a secondary that’s a decentralized store but we’ll limit our scope of discussion to our active video serving service

As usual, spoken like someone who has zero clue about what they’re talking about.

This is Cloudflare’s scale. Guess how much of that we would be consuming?

“entire cloudflare”

Thank you for the tech illiterate JOKE. Gave me a chuckle

No worries, I understand the constraints.

He meant that you put ALL your videos in the cloudflare, I understand, you don’t understand? We came here as investors, but ended up becoming fraud hunters.

Yes, because you have enough destructive power

I do understand. Hence, we are able to build this.

The other dev on this thread also understands.

Do you? Do you really?

What are you talking about now?

If you have nothing of value to contribute, please stop polluting the thread. Your statements are turning into non-sensical delirium
