Why UI and UX so horrible on 95% ICP dapps and websites?

Guys, i am a big fan of ICP and investor . I clearly see strong sides of the project like scalability , security speed and so on. And i see that ICP community is repeating all this words like mantra :" Tamperproof , secure , scalable , decentralized " and so on. We all know thats true , and its good. But there is one dark side of ICP , and it will NEVER get mass adoption until this problem will be resolved . Pabababam - VERY WEAK UI AND UX OF 95% of projects built on ICP. Dapps and websites just look boring and unprofessional and design is clearly bad , like they been built by bunch of students for university degree. But no one talks about this side , everyone just prefer to rizz , how good and great ICP is. But its not true if almost all of the project looks and feels like ICQ. You should understand that design and UX its the FACE of your chain and many investors just getn scared by unpolished and unprofessionally looking projects. Projects on SUI or Solana are polished to perfection , thats why people like it . Despite they are not fully on chain and all that ICP BLABLABA. Let me give u examples of clearly weak design on ICP: funded , orally , yuky , gold dao , draggins, bioniq , yral , hot or not , Openchat is just big joke and many many more . They are just kinda there . And thats it. They never will be mass adopted bc they just feel weird and slow and ugly , like they were made just to EXIST for no one. Impossible to onboard people in 2025 if apps looking like that. Some like ICS and Kong are not bad , but far from top polished design too. And thats guys, REALLY biggest problem of ICP no one admits. And that scares me .

I think latency is still a big issue. I’m not sure if DFINITY is still working on it or if it is even fixable. cc @Manu

I agree, it’s why waterneuron.fi just got a fresh update.

Ahhh…you think you’ll be using UIs in the future? :face_with_diagonal_mouth:

You think we’re behind. But we are ahead.

I totally agree with you. It’s hard for me to jump from my iPad or Samsung Galaxy Ultra centralized apps to ICP apps. They are so inferior in comparison. I’m talking about just from a UX perspective. You can tell the attention to detail is like millions of miles apart.

Yes, I think in the near future we’re still going to be using UI. AI is probably going to be the main way we use software by just talking to them, but right now UI and UX is important.

I don’t think you’ll ever transition from a Web2 app to a Web3 app due to inherent limitations; fewer resources, higher latency, and fewer features that come with being fully on-chain.

The only viable shift is from other chains to the IC. However, liquidity is limited, and there’s no need to reinvent token swaps in a million different ways across all chains.
