VOTE: NO PENDING (leaning towards rejecting due to potential governance attack vector, and as yet no response from proposer)
TLDR: Awaiting answers to the questions below… VP not sufficiently decentralised at launch, given the current VP stats assume a very low dissolve delay, which can be altered after the fact
Thanks @Laurie. I’ve not got much time on my hands over the next few days, but I’d like to vote responsibly.
Canisters
Would you be able to summarise what each of the canisters being decentralised are responsible for, and also point to the relevant place in source control for that specific canister. There are 4 canisters being decentralised:
- 5jxvr-fyaaa-aaaaf-qaslq-cai
- 5au6n-tqaaa-aaaaf-qaska-cai
- 5hvyz-6iaaa-aaaaf-qaskq-cai
- 4dyxl-hiaaa-aaaaf-qasmq-cai
I noticed that slese-6qaaa-aaaab-aafpa-cai is a controller for each of these canisters, but is not being decentralised. Could you also describe what slese-6qaaa-aaaab-aafpa-cai is responsible for?
Also please highlight any other canisters that make up this solution, but which are not being decentralised by this proposal.
As a side note, I noticed that the canisters above have not been set with NNS Root as a controller (all but one I think). If this proposal executes, it will fail unless all four canisters have NNS Root as a controller.
Current Functionality
Could you summarise the current level of functionality (rather than what’s planned to be implemented)? For each feature/functionality, please point to a way that this can be verified (i.e. a place where I can try the feature/functionality out).
Governance Token Value
Please could you describe what gives the governance token value upon launch, in terms of the current level of functionality (rather than focusing on what will be implemented)?
Initial Dev VP
Given there’s no neurons fund to help aid decentralisation (as it’s been banned for now), there’s not a lot that separates that 44.4% from growing to having majority control. Would you be able to comment on the reasoning behind this dev VP allocation?
