We are going to start the Toko Alpha release next week. Initially this will only be available to whitelisted principals but this will be expanded rapidly. If you are interested in being on the whitelist, head over to the TOKO discord and state your interest -
Toko will cover all costs for canisters. You will be able to create one or more projects. The idea is a project is like a Brand, and you can then have multiple collections under the same umbrella if you wish.
Needless to say, you will also be able to create collections, add and remove assets and set up all the parameters ready to mint.
We will not enable minting at this stage as we intend to wipe everything at the end of Alpha.
The idea is to test the crap out of the system, get feedback from creators and iron out bugs before any NFTs go live.
How long will this last?
It really depends how many bugs are found and how many changes are requested. Once we are confident that the creator is in a good state, we will wipe everything and release a new version with minting and claiming enabled.
What about the marketplace?
We have begun working on the marketplace in earnest and will be developing that alongside the alpha launch. At the latest, I would say September for the marketplace release, but you never know, there may be a pleasant surprise.
This is awesome news to basically anyone on ICP, even the ones who arent familiar with NFTs or literally dismiss them.
A new marketplace addressing previous issues with a fresh start is exactly what we need.
A plattform where people can explore their creativity and focus on creating rather than solving technical issues or just becoming a full time support staff xDD.
