Serious Concerns Regarding NFT Loss on Bioniq Market & Trust Issues in the ICP Ecosystem

As a strong supporter of the Internet Computer ecosystem for a long time, want to report on recent events have raised serious concerns for me regarding security, trust, and accountability within the ICP space.

Namely arround 2-3 months ago, my Charles NFTs from @onicaihq disappeared on @bioniqMarket, and despite numerous reassurances from @BobBodily, I have seen nothing but empty promises. I remained patient, but now my trust is gone. If NFTs can simply vanish without resolution, what does this mean for the broader security and reliability of ICP-based marketplaces? There are loads of people reporting the same on Bioniq telegram group. I miss other NFT’s in the wallet also paid by ckBTC.

To make matters worse, this isn’t happening in isolation. When we consider the backdoor vulnerability in Motoko made by the same team (now resolved by the DAO) the situation becomes even more alarming. Could these issues be part of a larger pattern or, even worse, something malicious?

I’m sharing my experience because I believe it’s a red flag that the community must take seriously. Decentralization is supposed to empower users, not leave them vulnerable to platform failures and unfulfilled promises. I see large support for Bob and recent Odin success- thats is great but it is not an excuse for such unresponsible dealing with other people assets.

I urge the DFINITY Foundation and the ICP community to investigate these concerns thoroughly. We need clear answers, accountability, and safeguards to ensure the integrity of assets on the network.

Has anyone else experienced similar issues? Let’s discuss and demand transparency.

I’ve also seen this reported with Sentinels lately unfortunately.

Yes. Definitely needed!

I would like this to boost it up, but honestly i do not like. It is a sad state of affairs. We need a decentralised NFT exchange. Anyone up for making it? I’ll support it (sorry @saikatdas0790 need more than a splash page)

Thanks a lot @darwin for bringing this up. As a creator, having to worry about all these things its very tiresome. I am a collector too, and i suffer the consequences of many wrongdoings that just cannot continue if we want this ecosystem to prosper. Luckily there are people who are tired of being silent and are starting to be more vocal about this. This is a completely unnaceptable behaviour that is affecting not only NFT collectors but this ecosystem´s credibility, so i think this is a golden opportunity for the gigabrains on this chain to come up with a real solution and stop making excuses. MINGA (Make ICP NFTS great again).

Good to know. Always good to bring people into the movement.

This whole mess needs to be fixed immediately ,

This. We´ve been hearing the working on this for years. There have been already too many excuses. We can´t keep losing users because of this.

Probably faster response than we´re getting from these marketplaces.

All user assets remain secure. The canister, which handles ownership data, accurately reflects who owns what. Only you can manage your assets.

The current issue stems from our indexer, a system that processes canister events to display information on our frontend. This is necessary because, with a large number of canisters, directly querying them for ownership data can overload boundary nodes, leading to temporary access restrictions. To avoid this, we use an aggregation method to track NFT ownership.

Unfortunately, this aggregation system is not functioning properly right now. This is why your NFTs may not appear correctly in your wallet on Bioniq. Rest assured, this is purely an indexer and API issue—not a problem with the canister or your ownership. Your assets are unaffected.

We’re actively working on a solution, with a developer focused on resolving this. I expect to have more progress to share within the next week or so.

Please feel free to reach out with any questions or concerns!

I appreciate the explanation, but after nearly three months, this reasoning is starting to feel more like an excuse rather than a valid justification for the ongoing issue.

If the problem is just an indexer/API issue, why has it not been resolved in a reasonable timeframe? This is not a minor inconvenience—it affects user trust, market reliability, and the fundamental ownership experience of NFTs on Bioniq. A temporary UI glitch should not take months to fix, especially when it impacts so many users.

At this point, the lack of a timely resolution raises serious questions about the competence, prioritization, and transparency of the platform. If a simple indexer issue can persist this long, what does that mean for the future stability of assets on Bioniq? Should we expect more prolonged disruptions with similar vague reassurances?

I did not want to make this a public discussion, but remaining silent would mean falling into a dependency victim trap—where users have no choice but to accept continuous delays with no clear resolution. Nearly three months is more than enough time for any issue like this to be resolved, and the fact that it is still ongoing is a major red flag.

I hope for a real solution, not more delays. If this issue continues, it may be time for wider community discussion and action to ensure users are not left in limbo indefinitely.

I am a collector and creative who is very interested in ICP. I have three 1/1 NFT collections on Entrepot/Toniq and have been unable to log into my creator account for months. I don’t want my NFT projects to disappear because the developers have abandoned NFT ICP projects. I would like to hold these in a secure wallet, but am unsure which wallet to use some appear in Plug, some in Stoic, some don’t show up except in NFTGeek. I am also willing to pay the top ups to keep the canisters active, but non-responses to problems is a real problem. I am hoping one of you genius developers builds an excellent marketplace for creators.

Well said, that is exactly what is needed!

I’m glad you brought this up. For a while it’s felt like I’m crazy trying to get Bob to resolve these issues and hold him responsible. It’s been going on for almost a year with Bioniq and 3 years with Toniq. We need to get Dfinity involved or another entity that has suggestions on how to move forward legally to get Bioniq to provide what we paid for.
