Internet Computer Tokenized Yield Vault Standard
Project Highlights
The Internet Computer Tokenized Yield Vault Standard is a modular vault infrastructure designed for DeFi builders, DAOs, asset managers, and tokenized RWA projects on IC.
It enables developers to quickly deploy vaults that manage deposits, calculate NAV, and execute yield strategies—without reinventing core vault logic every time.
By standardizing how vaults are built and interacted with, the project lays the groundwork for staking vaults, tokenized treasuries, structured credit products, and real-world asset portfolios—all natively on Internet Computer.
Web3 Advantages
In traditional finance, launching a structured investment product requires extensive legal, operational, and custodial overhead.
In DeFi, many chains offer vault frameworks, but they often rely on bridges, external oracles, or off-chain settlement.
Our approach:
-
Native Bitcoin support for secure BTC yield strategies without bridges.
-
Full on-chain execution with canisters handling deposits, NAV, and yield logic end-to-end.
-
Composable SDK for building custom products quickly.
This simply isn’t possible in Web2—where execution, custody, and settlement live in separate, siloed systems.
How It’s Built
-
On-chain logic: Motoko (Vault Canister, Strategy Canister, Token Canister)
-
Integration Layer: TypeScript SDK for developers to easily connect vaults to UIs or other protocols
-
Standards: ICRC-2 for share tokens, inspired by ERC-4626 for vault mechanics
Architecture:
-
Vault Canister: Handles deposits, withdrawals, NAV accounting
-
Strategy Canister: Executes yield logic (staking, LPing, RWA simulation)
-
Token Canister: Issues vault share tokens
-
Management Layer: Analytics, metadata, deployment automation
-
-
Design Decisions: Modular canisters for flexibility, making it easy to swap strategies without touching core vault logic.
Internet Computer Superpowers
• Native Bitcoin Integration (tECDSA) – Enables BTC yield vaults without bridges.
• Canister Upgradability – Builders can deploy strategies without breaking existing vaults.
• Chain Fusion (future) – Will allow IC to orchestrate strategies on any supported chain while keeping vault logic on IC.
• Scalability & Cost Efficiency – NAV calculations, metadata interfaces, and analytics run natively at Web speed.
Go-To-Market Strategy
• Developer adoption: Providing SDK + templates for quick integration.
• Partnerships: Collaborating with DeFi protocols, DAOs, and RWA issuers to launch vault-based products.
• Community engagement: Forum posts, Twitter/X Spaces, developer workshops.
• Demonstration products: Showcase vaults with ckBTC, ckETH, and IC-native stablecoins.
Monetization
• Phase 1: Open-source vault standard for ecosystem adoption.
• Phase 2+: Revenue from white-label integrations, strategy performance fees, and institutional onboarding.
• Long-term: Potential SNS governance launch for decentralized vault network.
Status of the Project
• Phase 1 Complete:
