On other blockchains I’ve typically stayed away from using floats. I know there was an update in July in the Cyclotron update with the performance of floats so I’m curious - are floats safe and performant on ICP?
Floats are more performant than before, but it’s up to you to decide if they are performant enough for you. To measure, you can use performance_counter
General warning: stay away from floats if you do anything with financial data. Floats can introduce rounding errors to calculations
