Polygig - a Job board and Crypto Freelance Market platform never touches your payout

Hey everyone,

I’ve been heads-down building Polygig (https://polygig.io), a job board and freelance marketplace built entirely on the Internet Computer, and I’m happy to finally share it.

The thing that’s bugged me about every job board / gig platform I’ve used — as both a client and a freelancer — is the cut. 10, 20% of every payment just… gone, sitting between two people who already agreed on a price. So I built Polygig around one rule: the platform doesn’t touch your money. Posting a job costs a flat 10 ckUSDC listing fee, full stop. Every payout after that goes straight from the job owner to the person doing the work — no percentage skimmed off milestones or salary, no invisible spread.

A few other things that are in there from day one:

  • It’s a real job board. Browse open jobs, see the full listing — description, required skills, salary/payout info, who’s hiring — and apply. Not just a “post a gig and hope” model.
  • Two ways to hire. Standard proposal-based jobs (post → review proposals → bring on collaborators → pay milestones or an ongoing salary), or competitions — post a brief, let people submit entries, pay out the one you pick.
  • Payouts in ckUSDC and other ICRC tokens, released by the owner as work is delivered, not locked up in some opaque escrow you have to trust a company with.
  • AI-assisted job search to help people actually find relevant work instead of scrolling forever.
  • It’s just canisters. No AWS bill, no traditional backend — the frontend is served by the canister itself.

It’s early — still working on a proper dashboard view, per-project Kanban-style workspaces for collaborators, and rate-limiting on search. But the core loop (post/browse a job, hire, pay, leave a review) is live at polygig.io.

Would love feedback, especially from anyone who’s dealt with the pain of job boards/freelance platforms taking a cut, or anyone building on ICP who wants to poke at how I’m handling ckUSDC transfers/fees.

Thanks for reading :folded_hands:
